"We stayed for two nights and while the room could best be described as adequate, the public areas are spacious, clean and well-decorated. Thereโs a large car park; the foodโs delicious and the staff are friendly, helpful and very welcoming.
Although the room was small and a bit dingy, weโd stay again simply because the people are so nice."

An excellent inn/accommodation with good food and reasonable prices. An old inn, much extend and beautifully decorated. Room are in the pub and 2 outside buildings. Only issue I would have is parking and access. . The site rises to the rear, both to the parking and the outside buildings. I use a walking stick and could just about manage the slopes and the stairs but severe walkers or wheel chair users would not. There is disabled parking (and electric charge points) availed. Very friendly staff, nice big room (called falow),
excellent breakfast, excellent evening meal staff very helpful sorting out a taxi for us, the room was warm due to heatwave so needed to keep windows open so we did notice some noise from the kitchen fans but this could not be helped. Very good car parking. Overall an excellent 2 day visit and would highly recommend.

It's a nice pub that is part of the Thwaites chain. Menu doesn't cater well for Vegetarians and not at all for Vegans. Disappointing to see them burning coal on the fire in July, really thoughtless.

We received a warm welcome in the bar and were shown our room. The room was quite small but it was clean and well laid out and had everything we needed.
Breakfast of cereal bar, instant porridge and a croissant is provided but we headed to the Wetherspoons or local cafe.
The bar is very welcoming and has a nice atmosphere.
We liked the central location for exploring Lancaster and not far from the University so we were able to easily visit our son.
We will definitely be back.

We had such a relaxing time. Just what was needed before heading back to work next week. The Aqua thermal journey was amazing- a whole two hours with no phone, no conversation just me and my thoughts. Bliss!
The food was delicious and the staff were just lovely, so welcoming and friendly. Our room was beautiful and so comfortable. We paid for this with our Tesco Clubcard voucher so our whole stay cost ยฃ79 for dinner bed and breakfast for 2 nights.

Country hotel set in beautiful grounds, but modern and comfortable inside, friendly helpful staff and delicious food made for a relaxing short break. This was made even more special by a large delightful room and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on.

This is a very nice place to stay and the Inn over the road is a great place to eat. The rooms and communal areas have been very tastefully decorated and it is very comfortable. Only one point, some of the rooms overlook a road which is surprisingly busy even in the middle of the night - not great if you are a light sleeper.
