Villa Del Palmar is a great Cancun Resort. It really caters to families with it's amazing pools, super friendly staff & comfortable rooms. For the most part, the restaurants offer very good food, but a little pricey. A few of the downsides are, the beach was overtaken by seaweed, so don't expect much from that (stay around the pool), there isn't much near by, so you pretty much stay at the resort or do an excursion (Isla Mujares is a must). Taxi service is very expensive. Be careful about doing the tour of Garza Blanca next door to get a VIP card for discounts to all the Villa Del Palmar amenities. When they give you an amount of time that the tour will take, set your timer on your phone & stop the tour when the alarm goes off, otherwise you will be on the tour for at least another hour or so. Be prepared for a pushy sales pitch at the end to buy into becoming a member. Though Garza Blanca is an amazing hotel, etc., the price tag is extreme. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay at Villa Del Palmar & hated to return to the cold & gray skies of our hometown.

THIS RESORT IS A SCAM: -20/5 This resort has by far been the most disappointing and advantageous place I’ve ever encountered in my handful of trips to Cancun. When we landed at the airport, our pre booked shuttle was more than an hour late and we had to call more than 3 times to ensure they have a driver in place for us. When we began our check in, we were told our vacation was room only and not all inclusive. However, when we booked and called in to confirm prior to our trip, they agreed it was. The upgrade to all inclusive would have been $155USD/night/person and we were there for the whole week accounting to $1500CAD/week, which we obviously did not have considering we paid nearly $3000.00CAD for this resort. Mario told us he gave us an upgrade from our single bed to king bed and requested a good review which was a straight LIE because on our itinerary, the ‘upgraded room’ was the room we originally paid for. We spent the night hungry and went back in the morning to exhaust all our options. We were told by our travel agent that the resort agreed to cover lunch and dinner for our second day while we get money sorted out however when we went to claim this, Juan and Ricardo immediately denied and did not let me get another word in to explain myself. I stayed on call w my travel agent for nearly 2 hours at front desk and the entire time, the staff was making snarky comments in Spanish under the assumption I couldn’t understand them but I did! My friend and I split one burger
