Hotel in good location. Staff on reception and in restaurant friendly. Rooms clean, small but adequate. Liked storm and handheld shower option.Mini bar with complimentary fizz and water a bonus. Some things seemed random e.g. one of rooms had bath mat, other didn't. Tea bags not topped up when room serviced. One had 2 bottles of fizz the other non!
Lounge area comfortable with lovely decor.
Noise was a problem, didn't realise bar serves until 1am on Fri/Sat and DJ and live music very loud. Very difficult/impossible to hold a conversation. Don't plan for an early night! No double or secondary glazing, so road noise a problem. Lift was out of order all weekend. Had a couple queries over drinks, over charged!
Neither me nor my colleague managed to sleep the night through, thanks to a flashing smoke alarm on the ceiling. In the morning, I realised that mine had a plastic bag covering it (??). I also opted for the more expensive room, which was in worse condition than my colleagues. Headboard was ripped off the bed, and was missing things like a kettle and hot water bottle cover. Shower had no pressure, hair dryer was possibly the cheapest you could buy.
Ok for an overnight stay. Room very cold, heating didn’t do much good. Music from downstairs on till 1am. Prefer to stay at bloc just around the corner.
