Hotel looks nice and rooms have plenty of space. Bathroom is lovely. Generally clean and warm. Complimentary minibar was a nice touch along with the coffee bags. Main issue I have with this hotel is that the blinds do not cover the window fully, so by 4-30 am the room was fully light from outside, these blinds also don’t go up meaning if you arrive in the afternoon there is little natural light in the room . We stayed in room 2A which has a generator outside of the single glazed window which went off at 6-15am. There was also a poo in the toilet upon arrival which clearly hadn’t been flushed by the cleaners. All easily fixable issues which ruined our overnight stay.

Great building that's been converted well, lovely ambience to the entrance bar lounge area, perfect location to stay if visiting The Jam House or The Rectory.

There was an issue with the water being discoloured and the lift was out of order. No coat hangers in the wardrobe and the towels and bed linen had seen better days. Cleanliness was not the best either

This is a hidden gem. It is a very nice hotel just on the outskirt of the city but only a few minutes walk from the town hall. There is a very nice bar with outdoor seating at both the side of the building on on the street with a church view. The rooms are nicely decorated with a modern bathroom and a mini bar with a very pleasant surprise! There was plenty of parking at the rear of the hotel although this is charged via an App at £21.50 per 24 hours.

Nice location and the drinks in the room fridge is a really nice touch. Good value for money. However, even though the rooms are clearly available, you'll be made to wait until 1500h to check in. No compromise at all. If you are up before 0800h then ideal as very quiet at night. At 0800h the fire doors are wedged open and the doors start slamming as the cleaners start their day. Not ideal if you are on holiday and want an extended rest. But overall very good.

Have stayed here lots but disappointed this time as sink dirty (like someone had been sick in it) and shower door was broken and wouldn’t open. Also lift was out of order (this was the case last time we stayed too). Great location though.

Disappointed
Key card wouldn’t work, up and down to reception 3 times. Lift not working, stayed last August and no lift then either! Receptionist finally came up to help and still didn’t work. Solution was to give us the master key! Very noisy during the night from music below and other residents talking and shouting outside our door and outside on the street.

Apart from a mini-fridge that was not working…everything else was great. The atmosphere in the lobby/restaurant for cocktail hour had a great vibe. The breakfasts were very tasty. Everything in the downtown area (shopping/canals) are all within a 15-20 min walk - so very accessible if you like to use your feet to get around. If we ever make it back to Birmingham…this is where we will want to stay.

Comfortable & well-located, but bad service
Really well located hotel in a nice part of town, and room was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, service at the front desk was not helpful. We had been told breakfast was from 8am, and we needed to leave by 8.45am, but when we went down in the morning we were abrupty told that there was a delay and breakfast wouldn't be until after 8.30. When we said that we were no longer able to stay for it as we had to leave, there was no apology or explanation and the receptionist actually walked away while we were talking to her. It was quite strange!
