"Used this hotel as an overnight stop both on our journey down to the south of France and also on our return. Situated close to the railway station, the town centre and the old medieval town which is worth a stroll round. On our arrival on the journey down shortly before dusk the receptionist gave us directions to places to eat, most were closed so ended up at McDonalds!"

"We have stayed here before and knew it was just about ok for an overnight stop, however our previous visits had been earlier in the year. On this occasion in July it was much warmer and the in room AC was almost pointless, barely any flow even on maximum and it did very little to cool the room. The room and building are showing their age and are shabby round the edges."

"The location of the hotel (at the end of the motorway) is perfect. It was incredibly clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. It has very limited facilities eg no gym or relaxation area. Breakfast was limited for our UK palette, eg the only egg option was boiled and you had to do it yourself, so it was not worth (in my view), the £13 pp additional charge. There were also no options for evening dining on site and as our stay included a Sunday and everywhere was closed it caused us...

Would consider using again, but might look for options slight closer to the centre of Montlucon. We were only staying for one night on our way south through France. "We used the hotel as we have family who live in the village. Due to ill health they could not put us up so the hotel was very convenient.We were made very welcome at all times and the service was excellent.It has a reputation for gourmand food and the dinner we had during our stay was very good."
