After hopping cheap flights to Barcelona, the first stop
for most travelers is their hotel. Indian travelers heading to the
Iberian Peninsula will soon find that many Barcelona hotels bear a familiar and high
quality name as the Wyndham Hotel Group has announced the
acquisition of more than 90 hotels and resorts across Europe and
South America.
The move is part of a larger acquisition of the Tryp hotel brand
from Sol Melia Hotels and Resorts, which will see Wyndham applying
its familiar brand of quality and luxurious accommodations to newly
obtained locations in cities like Paris, Frankfurt, Buenos Aires
and Sao Paolo.
Eric Danzinger, the CEO of the Wyndham Hotel Group, claims that the
move places the brand as a power player in the European and South
American hotels market.
"We acquired the TRYP brand because of its strategic presence in
major international cities and the significant growth opportunities
it presents to our business," Danziger told the Travel Daily News
at the opening of the brand's third location in Barcelona. "The
latest hotel opening in Barcelona demonstrates the brand's
accelerating growth and increasing interest from developers and
hotel owners."
