Great location, helpful staff and got in early!

Posted 05-Jul-2014
Pros: They let us check in early, the staff mostly spoke English and were very helpful, a decent waffle brunch, it was very comfortable, great location!
Cons: The mineral stains on the glass in the shower/hot tub area should be cleaned up.
Location: The location is perfect! 2 minutes walk from the entrance to Thermal Valley, adjacent to the main hot spring stream, park, library, musems.
We arrived at 1:00 pm expecting to drop our bags and check out Beitou until our 3:00 pm check in, but they had a room ready. When we asked for a room with a view, they apologized and said that would take another 5 minutes while they got another room ready for us. While we waited, we examined the beautiful stone floors and other very plush, museum-like appointments. In less than five minutes we were in our large double room with a king sized bed, furnishings out of royal castle, cloth Japanese style robe and cloth slippers, etc. Here we could see more that this grand hotel is showing signs of wear and age (worn bench cover, some mineral buildup on shower glass, etc). The deep stone tub held 2 petrified wood benches, with another outside, and took a while to fill with a combination of hot spring water and cooler to make it around the 102 degrees F we are used to from home. It was very quiet, very comfortable. For me, the only downside was the view, which overlooked the quiet street and courtyard with 4 statues in a rectangular pool. While perfectly located a bit up the hillside, its view down into Taipei is blocked by another hotel. They did their best for us, but we know what kind of view is available in other places, and this place does not have a view. We stayed two nights and had a wonderful time, a bargain at $78 per night.

The friendly staffs help me bring back an item I left in the shuttle car, I was really satisfied with their service. The room as well as the bathroom (including the hot spring bath tub) is clean in general. Breakfast quality was good and the waitress was really polite.

Great boutique hotel

Posted 10-Jun-2014
Pros: It is very elegant and has classical design which makes it look so polished and high-class. Private hot spring tub is really really awesome.
Cons: Some of the facilities seem a bit run down, for example, I saw leaking marks on the bathroom ceiling.
Location: A few tourist spots within walking distance: Geothermal valley, Museum of hot springs, Puji temple.
I had a wonderful 2 days stay at the hotel. The hotel is a bit far from the MRT (the distance is okay I guess, but it involves a rather steep slope, so it might be a challenge walking there the first time), and although the hotel provided shuttle bus to and fro the MRT station, it is a bit hard getting from the MRT to the hotel because you have to call the hotel, and so if you don't have a local number you have to place roaming call... or walk back. But anyway I don't think it is too big of an issue. Also, the staff was friendly and helpful. I love the classical design, and it makes me feel like I'm in olden times. Not to mention, the furnitures used are of very high quality (to my standards anyway), e.g. goose feather pillows, comfortable bed and sheets, antique looking wardrobes, chairs and desks. The private tub is one of the highlights for me. It is so convenient to have it in your room, and although it takes a while to fill up to a decent amount, you also have the luxury of adjusting the temperature to your liking, or wait for the water to cool down.

Lovely hotel in a lovely location in Taipei

Nestled in the Beitou hot spring resort area, this boutique hotel offers a spacious and luxurious retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful, and there are a number of interesting short walks and places of interest to visit nearby. There are hot tubs in the bathrooms for those who enjoy a hot soaking at the end of each day. The deluxe room is superb. Breakfast buffet has a nice but limited selection of Chinese and western cuisine. There is an MRT station is a short taxi ride away.

This hotel is located in the middle of the Beitou spa area...definitely not the worst but also not the best. ROOMS ARE VERY SMALL. BIG PLUS IS THAT THEY GIVE YOU COMB, TOOTHBRUSH AND TOOTHPASTE, VANITY PACK AND SOME SOFT DRINKS.

Relaxed Stay

Posted 18-Mar-2014 on Hotels.com
I was on a one night stay to pamper and soak myself in the hot spring. It was in my room and at my personal preferred time as to when to soak. It was great. Overall stay was pleasant. Good customer service from waitress and driver (was more than willing to take many pictures for me before I left). However, just don't like the positioning of the bed which one of the side was beside the wall (need to climb over my wife to go to the toilet in middle of the night) and the mirror facing my bed. The TV is super small to a hotel's standard and I can't even watch it if I lay on my bed.

Hotel with nice lobby but small room.

Posted 18-Mar-2014
Pros: Hotel with hot spring.
Cons: Expand the size of the standard room.
Location: The hotel provide free shuttle to nearby MRT, so moving around is not a problem.
The room was very small. No space for luggages. TV was placed on the top of wall at the side of the bed, very difficult to view.
