“Accomodation for the young only!”

Rooms were very well appointed except for the beds which were camp beds with matresses of varying sizes on top - they squeeked if you moved an elbow! Good location as it is within walking distance of vatican. However, it is also on a very busy road and there was no insulation to keep the noise out. The metro runs under the location so if the road noise doesn't wake you, the rumble of the metro will. (the whole building vibrates like an earthquake) Anyone walking around upstairs can be heard quite clearly, and the housekeeper will be heard every morning moving chairs and putting out the cold breakfast. This is accomodation for the young who can sleep through anything - not a place of comfort for the more mature who need their sleep...

“not impressed”

Had to contact hotel prior to travel to give a time of arrival, unfortuately flight was delayed and then baggage was missing so estimated time was completely wrong. Hotel rep angry that we were late and was refusing to wait for us. After 'discussion' agreed to wait a further 20 minutes but insisted that we pay 30 euros for inconvenience. Breakfast dismal, water not boiled for tea, grapefruit juice ok but take statins so can't drink that - nothing else was offered. Yogurt and toast very nice but one morning had toast that was left by other guests. Hotel clean. Staff helpful but after treatment on arrival this felt too little too late.
