WORST STUFF EVER.....EXTREMELY RUDE

Posted 12-Aug-2013
Pros: NOTHING
Cons: CHANGE OWNERSHIP/MANAGEMENT
I ORDERED FLOWERS DELIVERED TO MY WIFE,AND SHE NEVER GOT THEM THE STUFF(OWNER)WAS EXTREMELY RUDE. I WAS RELOCATED TO ANOTHER BED AND BREAKFAST BECAUSE OF "TEHNICAL PROBLEMS" AND WHEN I ASKED HOW DO I GET TO THIS NEW LOCATION,THEY ANSWERED "GET A MAP"

Bad beginning, unable to locate owner, no front desk as it was a b and b, other guests unhelpful as didn't speak english. Finally got to room. poor breakfast with packaged goods instead of readily available baked breads, gave instant coffee when requested american coffee, ran out of orange juice.4 keys for various doors,,,very secure. flat screen tv in room not necessary, would prefer radio with alarm clock. no maps or tourist info, poor english from workers. too impersonal for a bed and breakfast was close to vatican and had bus stops close by but had to find this out myself

not impressed

Posted 25-Sep-2011
Had to contact hotel prior to travel to give a time of arrival, unfortuately flight was delayed and then baggage was missing so estimated time was completely wrong. Hotel rep angry that we were late and was refusing to wait for us. After 'discussion' agreed to wait a further 20 minutes but insisted that we pay 30 euros for inconvenience. Breakfast dismal, water not boiled for tea, grapefruit juice ok but take statins so can't drink that - nothing else was offered. Yogurt and toast very nice but one morning had toast that was left by other guests. Hotel clean. Staff helpful but after treatment on arrival this felt too little too late.

A stunning disappointment

Picture a traditional, cozy bed and breakfast; a snug room, a hearty warm breakfast, all in a quaint home. Now, scrub that image from your mind. Replace it with a tiny, uncomfortable room in half a floor of a converted apartment building and a cold breakfast of prepackaged junk food and coffee from a vending machine. Enjoy a split mattress bed that gravitates you and your spouse to opposite sides each night. Squeeze yourself into a shower (one at a time, please) of the approximate dimensions of a phone booth. There you have Marco e Laura Bed & Breakfast. By the way, the B&B might have been 500 meters from the metro station in a straight line, but not possessing wings it is about a 20-30 minute walk for humans.

Great B&B, complicated to get to by metro.

Posted 07-Jan-2010
The b&b is very clean and the staff is great. We always had hot water and the building was always warm. The b&b is next to a little grocery store. The neighborhood is VERY safe and friendly- not touristy. The location of the hotel is not very easily accessible by metro. The metro line is down the hill from the hotel and you have to go on a very narrow sidewalk that is next to heavy traffic. Not recommended if you have someone who is mobility impaired. Also, it is best to take a cab from the airport if you have luggage on wheels. It is very hard to navigate with luggage on that narrow sidewalk. The B&B is close to the Vatican City. Less than 1km; however, the walk is through several hills.

Will recommend it to others

We were very happy to find a B&B in Rome, let alone one that is so close to the Vatican, the principal site of our 10-day visit.

Pictures of the rooms is deceiving, beds are very old

Posted 18-Oct-2009
The beds of the rooms are very old and picture is deceving on the internet, that is not the headboard of these beds and they do not have this decor. The room was clean though. They do not give any bath soaps so bring your own. There is no phone in the room to call the operator. When you enter the hotel, it is difficult to drag your luggage over the gravel as there no cemented path to walk from the gate to the front of the hotel.

Accomodation for the young only!

Posted 23-Sep-2009
Rooms were very well appointed except for the beds which were camp beds with matresses of varying sizes on top - they squeeked if you moved an elbow! Good location as it is within walking distance of vatican. However, it is also on a very busy road and there was no insulation to keep the noise out. The metro runs under the location so if the road noise doesn't wake you, the rumble of the metro will. (the whole building vibrates like an earthquake) Anyone walking around upstairs can be heard quite clearly, and the housekeeper will be heard every morning moving chairs and putting out the cold breakfast. This is accomodation for the young who can sleep through anything - not a place of comfort for the more mature who need their sleep...
