The hotel is located right on 5th Avein th heart of the action. The all inclusive option provided 3 options for dining, Legends sports bar, La Ceiba buffet and Los Tulipanes restaurant. We loved the food and atmosphere at the sports bar and the restaurant had amazing views of the street and lots of food options, however we weren’t impressed with the buffet. The all inclusive also included drinks at The Living Bar and the Kool Beach Club. All these combined for a variety of dinning and drinking options. The hotel rooms are nothing fancy, but were very clean, and everything worked as it should (a/c, hot water, safe) beds and pillows are very firm, hair drier and irons have to be signed out from the front desk for 2 hours at a time. The soap and shampoo provided does not lather well and there is a minimum number of coat hangers in the closet (6). There is a tv with English channels but there isn’t a phone in the room. The pools are nice and clean but very shaded

Modest hotel
The hotel itself was very modest, not a fancy luxurious place to stay, but it was a very comfortable suite to stay in for a week. Hotel staff are very nice people and provided plenty of information along with maps and schedules. The street is very busy and there are so many stores to see and things to do. The only downside to the all inclusive portion is the restaurant that we were told to dine at, connected to the hotel lobby and the bar nearby. Los Tulipanes waiters are rude and take their time when it comes to taking your order. There were only two waiters that were very nice, the rest couldn't care less about us. The food was amazing, which is why we kept returning and putting up with terrible service from the waiters.

Great location, but that is it.
I booked a room in their luxury room, with queen bed. I was put off hotel site, the room was old and dirty, bugs everywhere. Room service once left is without any towel. Room amenities are very limited, no iron, no lotion, only hand soap, and shampoo. The upside is the overall location, this hotel is in the heart of downtown Playa Del Carmen. The restaurants for this hotel are extremely nice. The other bad is that the beach is approx a 20 minute walk, and even if you book all inclusive, they treat you like a nobody at the "Kool Beach" drinks are served in plastic cups, and food is not included, you must pay separate.

Great location and drink options
The resort was very beautiful. It feels like you are walking through a jungle. It is right by 5th Avenue, so you are able to see pedestrians walking by. The bar and restaurant are open, so people watching is easy and fun! The beach is only a 10 minute walk, so you can walk on 5th Avenue and shop on your way if you want. Or there's a shuttle to take if walking isn't your style. Unfortunately, the rooms were just okay. Our room's linens had yellow stains on them. The shower didn't drain, and when we informed the front desk, they said they would send someone up to fix it, but didn't. We didn't spend much time in the rooms, however, so it wasn't that big of a deal. The patio had a hammock, though, which was very relaxing! The food was good. You do have to walk across the street for one of the restaurants that serves breakfast on the resort, but again, not a big deal. The bars were awesome! Lots of drink options for all-inclusive guests. The service wasn't awesome. They were always short on servers in the Living Bar and nice restaurant next door to Living Bar. The beach was awesome! You have to reserve chairs at Kool beach (free with all-inclusive!), and the bar there is close to the chairs. The bar tenders just looked at your wristband to make sure you're all-inclusive. They also had good drink options. Absolut vodka and Don Julio tequila were a few alcohol options, so it wasn't low-quality alcohol. Get a massage at Kool beach! Cheap :) Overall, it was great time!

never been in a hotel with a service like this.
Hotel didn't honor what we paid for the package. Shuttle from hotel to the airport was prepaid $76.00, but we had to take a taxi because the hotel rejected to give us the service. They said didn't have any shuttles that morning. our flight back to Houston was at 1:49, I spent 3 hours taking with the Expedia agents trying to solve the problem. They didn't do anything to help, the hotel employees either. It's like they didn't care at all, even do everything was confirmed in my printed documents from the computer. Spent more than two hours coming to the hotel after arriving because the driver didn't know where the Tucan hotel was located. Second night, when I opened my bed to go to sleep (10 pm) the flat sheet had very a "notorious BLOOD mark" on it. I requested to change the sheets, 3 times, I had to wait for an hour, until the front office sent somebody to my room #501. No apologies, no respect for the situation at all. The hotel we paid for is the Tucan hotel and beach club, but we had to walk 10 blocks to get there. The Expedia agent misguided us with lies and make us to pay for something we didn't buy. He affirmed us that our hotel was in the beach. Unfortunately our experience is been horrible. Our room was not Deluxe, we paid for delux I am requesting to be reimburse for the taxi ($46.00) and my money back for the prepaid Shuttle ($76.00). You have no right to ruin people's vacation. Dear Madaglena, We very much regret his bad experiment we on this trip. That we do hotel service charge when purchasing a package with the agency Expedia, Expedia us and takes over with any other contracted service (flight, transportation, tours, etc.) As regards the lodging, the hotel provided the room reserved. We were informed upon arrival that you expected a beachfront hotel and on the information published on the website of Expedia, does not say that are located in front of the sea. To our knowledge you will be provided support in the reception for you to solve your problem, but I understand your discomfort when transportation did not come for you and I had to pay again for that service. I suggested he hire your travel agent to solve it. Once again we offer an apology for having had a hard time with this experiment we but was out of our hands. Awesome hotel!
I enjoyed Tucan hotel so much that if I am ever in that area again I will book my stay. I have never been to Mexico and I booked this through Expedia. The place was super, super clean. They seem to wash everything from top to bottom everyday. They are hard working and they do a wonderful job. The only thing that I would want to see change is the bed, it was a little stiff. Other than that the people, food and safety were awesome! Book this hotel if there is room you will not be disappointed.

Great for a weekend
I Like this hotel because of its location, right on the 5th ave. 3 blocks from the night clubs and 3 from the Beach, the Hotel is surrounded by restaurants, shops, some bars, so if you want to go out at nights it is an excellent choice. plus it is all inclusive so you actually do not spend on drinks at the beach. the hotel has a private beach with a bar next to KOOL. Im coming back no doubt.

4 the money and location it was OK
Ok if you like being close to all the fun , but not if you want to relax and have a good night sleep. The food was just ok, we tryed it 2 times and then found great food on 5th and side streets, look around they have some great deals on dinners and the food is very good and cheap .( but look around and ask for the best price) The music went on till 3:oo am most mornings but the last one we were there.....Crank up the air and it drowns out the pounding beat of the music......For the money (cheap) it was a good place to stay ,right on 5th ave (shopping central )and 1 block from the beach.Great location.

Quaint hotel on 5th Ave.
Stayed at Moongate one night before moving to an all inclusive for a wedding. Cute little hotel right in the heart of 5th ave. Small, quaint, clean, check-in and check-out was quick with a smile. Would stay here again.

Horrible Experience
Avoid this hotel at all costs. The beds were like rocks, the A/C didn't work, the staff was rude. I would compare this hotel to a cheap hostel.

El hotel no ofrece lo que pagas aqui, era todo incluido y cuando llegas te dice que no incluye el club de playa, ni toda la comida ni bebidas y hay q pagar 2,000 pesos mas. Muy mal ya que cuando lo ofrecen en hoteles dice todo incluido. Nunca dice que no puedes ir a la playa.

No coincide lo que ofrecen con lo que es realmente
Al inicio solicite una habitación con una cama matrimonial y me dan una con dos individuales, al cuestionar sobre esto, me dan a entender que eso hay, y ofrecen el club de playa y varias cosas no aplican en el plan todo incluido, te quieren vender el plan "premium" y con menos de lo que cuesta me hubiera ido originalmente a otra opción que tenía, muy mal la verdad, deberían quitarlo de la lista de hoteles que manejan. Me lleve una decepción muy grande.

Billigt och bra
Vi blev "uppgraderad" till Real Resort. Hade ett stort rum med balkong. Bra för pengarna. Samma för den all inclusive som ingick. Helt ok för pengarna. Stranden vid deras Beach Club var lite svår att bada från men det är inte så långt att gå för att få finare strand.

Muy recomendable
Esta estupendo el hotel Tukan que nos habiamos quedado en lugar del hotel Moongate. No se si es porque esta en remodelacion pero el Tukan es muy recomendable con alberca y jacuzzi. Solo un detalle, necesita nuevas almohadas para que esten mas suavecitos.

todo estuvo muy bien solo que las almohadas por haberlas puesto algo húmedas olían feo pero hicimos el cambio y no paso a mayores no es un detalle para calificar mal a este hotel y claro que pensamos regresar

la verdad no sabia como iba a ser el hotel ya que no tenia calificaciones pero al llegar , las atenciones e instalaciones están muy bien y por la ubicación ni hablar la mejor, en medio de la 5ta avenida y lleno de folclor lo recomiendo ampliamente y claro que regresaremos

dur a trouver, dur d'y rester.
tres difficile a trouver car il n'est ni indiqué , ni connu (pas meme de ses voisins); hotel en chantier , . le beach club est a 15mn de marche de l'hotel. je pense que ca ne vaut pas ce prix ou que pour ce tarif on peut avoir beaucoup mieux a 1mn a pied.
