Lovely two story basic cabanas. The place is a little more than tired. The pool was green. The pugs were friendly. The staff fell over backwards to assist you and Breakfast was great. Nothing fancy and yes a cold shower on a cool morning did send a chill up my spine .

Out of town and quiet. Clean rooms with decent size pool. Showers weren't airways hot and the restaurant wasn't open when we stayed - not even serving coffee and juices. The AC in our room was faulty. Overall we had a relaxing stay though.

It is a nice hotel a little off the strip towards the end but it is a short walk maybe 5 to 10 min walk to all the activities and restaurants and the staff was friendly. i was kinda scared because towards the end of the strip there isn't any street lights its a little dark for about 2 blocks before you get to the main area. overall good experience only complaint would be the hot water wasn't very hot it was like warm. they didn't have TV but i didn't mind the AC was nice and strong though when i went it wasn't very hot.

Problem with hot water.
The problem is that the units all all in a row and the units on the end never get hot water. The manager did come over and opened a valve outside and ran a bunch of water on the ground and we got warm water. The next day they gave us a up grade one that was closer to the hot water tank and we had hot water. The sign by the road was not lite so it was hard to find at night.

Wonderful Staff but Bad Location and Sub-par Rooms
The staff were nice, but we left before our reservation was over due to a number of factors. The hotel is far enough out of downtown Tulum to not only be inconvenient but also scary to travel to at night. It is far enough down the main road that there are no street lights for a portion of the walk. I would recommend not making this walk alone, just take a taxi instead. The rooms were noticeably built by hand; there are gaps in the corners of the walls and under the doors that allow in many (large, scary...) bugs. You could hear every move of the upstairs neighbors. The rooms were dark, especially the bathroom which was more creepy than quaint. The showers were nice and hot though, but I felt I needed to wear flip flops while showing. We also discovered that water ran down the walls of our room when the upstairs neighbors showered, which was the last straw that lead to our departure.

Great value in offbeat location.
The Green Tulum is on the outskirts of “downtown” Tulum. It is a funky property in a jungle like setting. Lots of quirky touches like the seashell light fixtures and faucets. It’s not spotless or perfectly built but it has lots of charm and a lovely setting. The staff was friendly and helpful. They only serve toast and coffee for breakfast but lots of good food options less than a half mile away. A mile or two to the beach town of Tulum which has everything you could want in a tropical setting. White sand beaches gorgeous restaurants, massage, yoga, shopping. There you’ll pay several times more for a room on the beach. Green Tulum is a great low budget option.

It was very disappointing the roof leaked and we had a wet bed . they advertised a health club and restaurant - neither if which really exist and hard to find- a long way out of town.

Not worth the money
- Hot water didn't work and always had to take cold showers - Not close to the beach or downtown area - Wifi doesn't work in rooms - Room roof leaked when it rained - Hotel was close to a major road with lots of trucks driving by at night

Ok place-Great staff
We booked it not realizing it is just off the main road, a bit loud with trucks and not an easy walk into downtown Tulum. Great pool th9ugh an cool set up of rooms up and down with hammocks on many of the porches and balconies. I would say a bit expensive for what you get- basic room with a bed and great mosquito netting, but musty smelling for sure. However, the staff was great. They were very patient with getting my friends and me rooms that were one above the other-we wanted to be close. They really worked to make it happen, all in a downpouring rain with smiles on their faces.

Nice hotel but loud and too far from town
The room was nice, but open. The problem with that was you could hear everything outside such as trucks driving by the major road, or people getting back in at 1:30am from partying. Wifi was free but didn't extend well to the room, so it was cutting in and out. Parking was limited and inefficient so ended up having to park out on the street.

Unique & interesting hotel
The rooms are cabanas in a mini jungle, 15 minutes from the Main Street in town. I can see how it would appeal to lots of people however you need to have torch/flashlight as the lights in the room are so dim, I could barely see. The restaurant and bar didn't seem to be open which was a shame. I was disappointed and a little annoyed to find that there was no hot water for a shower in the morning especially as it cost £97 for the night.

I like the concept but i think it under delivers. The bed is quite small for two people. The bathroom is tiny. There is only one small mirror, and it's in the bathroom, so if you're a woman you'll have a hard time getting dressed and ready. The cabanas are very close to each other, and you can hear everything coming from upstairs or side rooms. The overall feel of the place is nice. Very green, however, i stayed at another place in Tulum, and "green" isn't hard to find...

not the best...
Green tulum looks really beautiful and everyone is extremely kind. But.....wait until the evening comes. The structures are two stories. If you have a room on the bottom floor, you'll hear every footstep, every conversation, and sound your upstairs neighbor has to offer. I stayed three nights and didn't sleep soundly once. We stayed here because it fit our budget. If you do the same, make certain you have a top floor room.

Full of mosquitoes and dirty/old , ESCAPE...!
We booked this 3* hotel for 2 nights by looking at pictures on expedia.. but just while entering into hotel from dirty road access, our hopes were shattered.. Room were dingy, Old and worn out. (See actual pictures I attached) Bathroom was just dirty hole of 3X5 feet with no mirror. I could not shave, my wife could not do makeup..lol. AC was not there, and fan on rotating with vibration as if it would fall any time. Wifi was not working in room (worked in lobby) Real horror started in night, in spite of keeping door/windows closed, room was filled of mosquitoes which left lots of bites on our skin.. as there is no AC in hot room (it's cancun), mosquitoes literally did not allow us to sleep whole night.. Next day we decided that even though we did not have back up plan to book another hotel, we would leave this hotel in mid-way... Hotel is bit remote (10min walk) from all restaurant zone.. so thank god that we had car, so we did not have to go thru dark scary route. So my advise would be to skip this hotel even if it looks cheaper choice for 3 star hotel (which it does not deserve).
smallest/dirty bathroom with mirror
roof above your bed.. full of mosquitoes
old wooden slippery stair to your room
worn out entrance to room

Interesting hotel
The hotel is very nice, the layout is also very interesting. I felt like living in the jungle :) The wooden details in the room, bathroom and restaurant contribute to the unique experience. I would choose that hotel for honeymoon. The hotel is located close to the main road which can be sometimes noisy. Also, the hotel is a few blocks from Tulum restaurant area and approx 3 km from Tulum ruins.

Pleasant, No frills Stay on Budget.
Check-in was quick and easy. The room was modestly furnished with one queen bed and small futon. The sheets on the bed were clean, but need to be replaced (a few small holes and light stains). Give the shower more than 5 minutes to heat up (no need to turn on the cold water) or else you're in for a lukewarm shower, which isn't too bad in 80 degrees. The ceiling fan was mostly sufficient. If you need to sleep in complete silence, this is NOT the place for you. Roosters WILL wake you up early, or before dawn, if you're not one to sleep through it. Bring ear plugs if you otherwise don't mind being close to nature. Our room included breakfast which was simple, but tasty--a big plate of sliced fruits, fresh juice or coffee, and scrambled eggs with refried beans. Service was fast and pleasant. We had a car, but you could take a 10-15 minute walk to the beginning of the main strip of restaurants in Tulum. The hotel is off the main drag, but seemed safe.

Cheap - limited!
You get what you pay for most definitely! It is clearly an Eco-hotel, I am fine with this for a one night stay but not having any hot water really put me off. Even in the hot weather you need hot water to have a good clean surely? Unless it was just our room but we checked out anyway so didn't bother asking I don't think its near anything in terms of location, etc..

Fan was not enough to keep cool. Had to shower many times in one day. Shower was a bit dirty. Pool was green and murky, not blue like in the picture even after they spent all day cleaning it. Hotel was a bit far to walk in the dark streets at night.

Exotic rooms in a quiet area.
Canin style rooms. Each unit has a floor level or second level. The floor level rooms have A/C which is recommended during the aummer months. The second level room has no A/C but has a better view (gives you a feel for a tree house). Each unit has a hammock right outsidw and os perfect for relaxing. The hotel has a total of 22 rooms so os nice and quiet. The staff are friendly and knowledgable about activities and places to go without trying to sell you anything. Would definately be back!

Friendliest hotel people ever
The gentlemen who run the front desk are so very warm and helpful. I would stay there again to visit them. Never have I experienced more genuine hospitality. The gardens and rooms were very atmospheric, in a cool jungle-chic-hippy way. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. For this price-range in Tulum it is great.

Nice, but probably a little pricey for what it is.
Based on the pictures and reviews, I thought it would be a little bit nicer. We were on the bottom floor of a 2 floor hut. It was decently nice, but a little less nice than I expected. The bathroom was a little dirty, but bearable. There is AC, but our AC remote was hard to use. It was hard to get it turened on, and then I couldn't figure out how to turn it off. So our room was actually quite cold throughout the night.

nighttime noise from lorries on main road. Room had no hot water during entire stay despite complaints, no fridge in room, terrace seating hideously uncomfortable. Also roof leaked during rain, no offer to fix this. Early in our stay, breakfasts were not up to hotel standards. & the bar was never attended or drinks offered. Thankfully only 15 minute walk into town or easy, cheap cabs.

Green Tulum
The Green Tulum was hard to find. I hired a taxi driver to help me locate it. Trouble is, there is only one sign, facing west; which is not illuminated at night. The road is is full of potholes that need to be negotiated. When I got to my room, it smelled and there was a large bug in the tub. The staff was very apologetic and found me the new bigger room. Other than that, I had a wonderful time. The stuff is awesome.

Nice place on the far end of town so vehicle or a taxi are needed. staff and management are very polite. showers in room worked great..plenty of power. my one niggle would be the floors in my room looked like they had never been washed. so once you had a shower you had to aim for the mats otherwise feet would be mucky. other than that a great place to stay.

Cozy and Welcoming
Green Tulum is just as advertised, a cute, little eco-themed set of cabanas. They were neat and clean and sprinkled with flower petals as we walked in... nice touch. The furnishings are simple and quite rustic, in line with the eco-friendly theme. But, where Green Tulum stood out was the attention by the the staff. The property manager was authentically concerned about our comfort. He answered all our questions about the region helped us book a trip to the bioreserve nearby, even though it took a few tries due to some of them being booked. In fact, when the tour came to pick us up at the hotel, a few of the other tourists commented on how cute our hotel was and wanted to know about it. The biggest drawback is that it's a decent walk to Tulum, probably 10 minutes along the side of the road to get to the start of the main strip of shops and restaurants. We didn't mind it much, but definitely something to be aware of.
