Good Stay!
Rooms were clean, bathroom was spacious and updated. Breakfast was nice. Very close to center of Heidelberg. Overall good stay and would recommend!

No elevator makes it a little difficult to get to the room but I made it. Parking is not like in USA. You have to pay for parking all over Germany.

Our room didnt have an outside view (our choice) was great for sleeping only .. the room/hotel is spotless. Breakfast adequare. The reception was up stairs and was good to have assistance in taking cases up . The lady at reception and breakfast very friendly and helpful. other staff members don't seem happy. Great location, easy walk to everything. .

Great location and very warm staff. We were busting Xmas markets and it was very very close to the university square and walking distance everywhere else. Train station was a 12 min drive.

This hotel is very clean and modern located in th heart of Aldstadt. The staff were all very friendly and helpful reakfast was the best. I would stay here again for sure.

Clean, A/C !!!
Tucked away near city center, this room was perfect for the three of us traveling! Clean, A/C, and a little courtyard ( can park maybe 6 cars). We did have to park in underground parking a bit away, but it IS Bavaria, parking is a premium. You'll get over it. Very pleasant stay. Walking distance to everything!

This hotel is conveniently located in the Altstadt and is within walking distance to many of Heidelberg's attractions. It provided the three C's: charm, comfort and cleanliness. After travelling throughout Germany, this was the only hotel that provided washcloths, kleenex, iron and ironing board. The hotel also offers an excellent breakfast and was one of the most reasonably priced hotels we stayed in.

Excellent central location close to old town, shops and restaurants. Good buffet and nice room. Parking was a challenge and navigating the one way or blocked off pedestrian only streets made it very difficult to get to the hotel.

Lovely old hotel in Heidelberg
We stayed for 3 nights at the Gasthaus Hotel Backmulde in Heidelberg and were delighted with everything about it. The hotel building is a very old traditional house with a fine courtyard, and was very conveniently located in the Altstadt, Our room was modern, well furnished and clean, the breakfast was great and the staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient. We would certainly stay there again.

Stay was great, location couldn’t be better...close to the schloss and the shopping area. The breakfast was modest but included salmon and much better than other expensive hotels I stayed at during this trip. My only complaint is that AC didn’t get as cold as I wanted to but I am used to blasting the AC to 70 degrees at home.

Hotel had a really nice breakfast. Lots of variety. We were close to Heidelberg shopping, the castle, the boat ride along the river, the bus stop so the train station was easy to reach. We dined at the hotel restaurant which was very nice. I don’t believe there was an elevator but it was not necessary. The room was quiet. I would recommend this hotel to a freind.

The hotel has an excellent location in the center of the old City. Our room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast. The main road nearest the hotel was closed for construction and we had a difficult time actually getting to the hotel. We had to park near the university and one of us walked to the hotel to find out how exactly to drive there. The hotel staff told us to drive on a pedestrian only street to reach the hotel to unload our luggage, then drive to a nearby lot to park as the four or five parking spaces outside the hotel were taken. The following day, we again had trouble driving from the parking lot to the hotel to collect our luggage. In the end we parked a block away and one of us stayed with the car while the other made two trips to drag our luggage around the corner over the cobblestones. It was a bit much. The hotel itself and the room were great. We should have been warned of the road closures, extremely limited parking at the hotel, and accessibility issues ahead of time.

A nice small Hotel with parking, great breakfast
The Hotel and the Restaurant are directly connected, so if the Hotel reception is closed you will be recieved by the Restaurant which had all necessary details and room keys for me. Some parking lots are in front of the house. The Elevator is well mantained and everthing looks clean and friendly. The room is using it´s space efficiently, the bathroom is great. Everything is proper and well mantained. The breakfast is freshly made and really good. And in addition it is in the center of the city not too far away from anything in Heidelberg. I´ll check them first next time

Beautiful hotel in the heart of the Old Town
Very clean, spacious room. Steps from the Old Town but very quiet. Super clean bathroom with large shower, comfy beds. Breakfast was awesome. We would highly recommend to friends!

Nicely appointed small hotel in convenient area
Ours was probably the least desirable room in the hotel as it had no exterior window (but we were advised of this at the time of booking). The room was of modest size and the bed was two smaller beds pushed together so not great for cuddling but it was immaculate as was the fairly large bathroom. There was not much drawer space. The included breakfast buffet was one of the best I’ve had. We were within a few minutes walk of everything in the old town section of the city.

Highly recommend this hotel because the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our son is Coeliac and they were very good in the restaurant in the evening and the breakfast room. The room was very comfortable and clean and the hotel in a great location in the old town

Room was just as pictured, spacious and airy. Bed was comfortable and hotel was quiet. The absolute best part was the breakfast, authentically European without pandering to American taste. Just what we wanted.

Backmulde near old town.
Nice size bathroom with hot shower. Beds are firm european standard. Better pillows than last place. We had the interior room which had a window looking into hall. We kept the curtains closed and were only in the room to sleep so that was ok for us. The breakfast was great! Staff was very nice and allowed us to leave a bag in the morning so we could go touring until after checkout time. Lots of great restaurants and bars nearby. Great location for old town touring.

This guest house looks cute in pictures but those are nothing compared to the real life adorable mess of the house. The staff was very courteous, helpful, and had a great sense of humor. The room was a great surprise. It was huge, with a huge bathroom (the room was for 3 people but 4 could have fit with plenty of space. The breakfast was great. This hotel is a great find.

Bizarre innkeeper attitude.
You must drive through a pedestrian only area (and risk a police problem) in order to reach the hotel. Hotel and restaurant both very overpriced. We knew in advance that the room reserved had no outside view (and was discounted from the price of the other rooms) but did not realize there was no fresh air or way to ventilate a very stuffy and overheated room. The owner has a Trump-like reaction to anything less than a perfect rating on everything and becomes rude and insulting. We cannot recommend.
