WelcomHeritage Taradale Cottage

WelcomHeritage Taradale cottage was christened after the illustrious aristocrat & diplomat Major General 'Tara' Singh Bal, and belongs to his son Brigadier Amarjit Singh Bal. It is the only Heritage property in Ranikhet. A three minutes easy downhill walk from the road leads you to the property which is reminiscent of the summer houses built during the British Raj . The peace & tranquillity of this place inspired the likes of Rabindranath Tagore who penned parts of his famous Gitanjali here.

Mahadevi Verma, the prose & poetry writer, built an abode here which is now a museum. Narain Swami & Sri Aurobindo also founded Ashrams in the vicinity. The famous wildlife conservationist and writer Jim Corbett stayed here while en-route to bag one of the man-eating Tigers and has mentioned Ramgarh in one of his books.

WelcomHeritage Taradale cottage is situated in a fairly secluded spot overlooking tree covered slopes and a verdant green valley or 'Dale' from which it derives the latter half of its name . A five minutes easy downhill walk from the road leads you to the property which is reminiscent of the summer houses built during the British Raj . The grey & white stucco facade, slanting tin roofs, bay windows, verandas & balconies replete with delicate Victorian trims lend an old world charm to this home away from home .

Ranikhet

Ranikhet is a hill station and cantonment town in Almora district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is the home for the Kumaon Regiment (KRC) & Naga Regiment and is maintained by the Indian Army.

Jim Corbett

Jim Corbett National Park lies in the Nainital, Pauri Garwhal and Bijnore Districts of Uttaranchal. It is the first wildlife reserve of India which extends over an area of more than 500 sq km in the Himalayan foothills and famous for its varied flora and fauna.

Binsar

Binsar is a beautiful, quiet and wild Himalayan destination with rich natural surroundings among dense forest. Binsar is perched on top of the Jhandi Dhar hills. This place is situated 33 km north of the Almora town in the Uttarakhand state of India.

Mukteshwar

Mukteshwar gets its name from an 350-year-old temple to Shiva, known as Mukteshwar Dham, situated atop the highest point in the town, within the IVRI campus, and close to which lie the overhanging cliffs, locally known as Chauli-ki-Jali, used for rock climbing and rappelling, with an excellent view of the valleys below.

Jageshwar Temples

Jageshwar is an important tourist destination of Kumaon, Situted 34 kms away from Almora at an elevation of 1,870mts above sea level. Jageshwar is a temple of Lord Shiva situated amidst dense Deodar forest having great mythological importance.

Kasauni

Kasauni is a scenic and splendourful hill station located just 53 km to the north of Almora. This is an area full of deep and dense pine forest. Kasauni is quite often compared to Switzerland and it is called the gem of the Himalayas.

Ghorakhal

Ghorakhal is a small place in Nainital district of Uttarakhand, approximately 36 km from Kathgodam Station and 4 km from Bhowali. Ghorakhal. One of the famous attractions in Ghorakhal is Golu Devta Temple, always in news for the unique rituals performed here.
