Comfortable stay..
Friendly reception.. Timely service.. Comfort stay.. Clean rooms.. They even Specially arranged a cake at request, had camp fire which was amazing... The only thing we are sad at was the view -- no proper view of nature from the property.. Only the ground level rooms are able to get a lake view - which is also not so great..

Everything was good, only problem we had was everything was charged really high. One night we decided to parcel our dinner from out and we asked for 3 plates their answer was since we took our dinner from out they can't give us plates instead they gave us really bad disposal plates that were charged at ₹10 . It's not the amount but where our bill came to 10,000 for everything , how can you do this to your guests.

Definitely not worth the amount of money spent on the cottage. Very next day the lights went off and there was a leak in the wash basin drain pipe. Food was average and costs you more. What's worth is the view of the lake in front of the cottage.

Ooty Hotel Lakeview Review
It was an excellent stay at the hotel with very good ambience. The rooms were neat & tidy and well maintained. The room service was awesome and they got all the items ordered very quickly. The climate was excellent and the spot of the hotel was very good. Overall wonderful experience and would recommend this to all. Only thing they could be improved is to have a golf cart or internal vehicle for going to the rooms because it will be difficult for old people to climb the steps.

Nice hotel in great location
Pros: Excellent cottages and villas with patio and lake view Cons: Hotel needs to improve its service quality. whenever we asked for paid service it was done immediately but delay is all unpaid services like filling up water, repair work etc. Also room heater should be added in each room during winter without any extra charges.

Room Heater was charged separately, as the room did not hv a fan or AC, heater should hv been a part of the amenities and not charged for in addition . Taps did not have hot water,being winter with low temperatures Lukewarm water was least expected.

Good stay but not worth.
I have stayed for 2 nights with my family. Hotel is located at outside from city and in actual there is no 'Lake View' from hotel. No nearby hotels or shops. Only good thing is excellent surrounding area and cottages. Food quality was average and less options for breakfast. Better to choose hotel nearby city.

1.Would be appreciate if the room cleaned on everyday basis. Room was not cleaned by house keeping since from check in till check out. It was cleaned while check in. 2. Last but not the least.. you should run a lounge bar inside the hotel.

Good location with private garden
This is my second visit to same hotel. It was wonderful experience both the times. If you are checking in early inform the staff well in advance the timings of check in and if ur checking out late you have to pay rs.300 for extra 3 hours and 1 day amount if more than that. Beware of money oriented travel desk people. I went by srs travels and in ooty they have site seeing options too of cab. If you want well mannered cab driver ask for sreedhar he was the guy who was very good and not money oriented.

If I am in ooty, I will be in Hotel Lake view
Pros -Its a nice place to stay connected to nature, even being in the city. Cottages are good and you can spend your whole day with tea, newspaper and chair watching the scenery around your balcony. Cons - Charging extra for everything you ask makes little discomfort talking to them. Suggestion - Enjoy dinner at restaurant and go out for breakfast. 150 bucks is not worth you spend for breakfast you get.

Pleasant Stay at Hotel LakeView - Ooty
Pro's 1.Good Ambience 2.Nice and clean rooms Con's 1.Check in at 1PM .............this is the first hotel where I experienced such a late check in time. Generally hotels allow check in by 10AM or 11AM. They took almost 30 minutes to complete the initial processing at the reception and another 30 minutes to clean the rooms before handing over the same to us. Their checkout is at 11AM. I am wondering what they were doing during those two hours instead of making arrangements to clean the room and have it ready by 1PM. I wouldn't have been bothered by the delay had I been with my friends but I was accompanied by my friend who had his one year old daughter. 2.Their morning buffet breakfast was terrible. The worst part of this is that they charged 150 per head for such a breakfast. There was no variety as well as the food was not hot. The upma that they had was the worst that I had eaten anywhere. When we took up the issue with the concerned people we did not get a proper response. They informed us that some of the guests liked the same breakfast very much.

IT WAS AN EXCELLENT!!
MY STAY IN THE LAKE VIEW HOTEL WAS PLEASANT. ALL THE STAFF WERE SUPPORTIVE AND COOPERATIVE. COTTAGES WERE NEAT AND CLEAN. BUT THE BREAKFAST RATE WAS HIGH AS COMPARED TO THE FOOD ITEMS WHICH WERE PROVIDED TO US. ALTOGETHER IT IS A NICE HOTEL.

It is a nice hotel. Pretty close to Ooty.
I enjoyed my stay. Though the interior of the room simple but since it is neat and maintained, one can peacefully stay. The hotel provides good transport services so its very convenient. The only thing which spoiled our mood was, the billing was not done accurately by the management hence they have missed to include a payment for which they called when we were in bus and about to leave. It caused us big trouble to look around for ATM to withdraw cash for payment. Quite disappointing!!! Except this, all went really well. Food, I will mark as average but as per the standards, it was fair enough.

Value fot the money. But we expected beds to be more comfortable - bigger / better mattress, rooms to have heaters (esp. in Dec/Jan winters). Complementry breakfast should be there. Also, they did not plan any celebrations for New Year Eve - a big let down!!

My friend and I had booked for two nights, but decided within an hour of arrival that we would stay only one night and look for other accommodation in Ooty. Service is poor. It took three requests to get towels brought to the room. The electricity was not on at sunset, and it took them three requests and half an hour wait for them to turn the generator on. Their webpage says "The property sits on an 8-acre stretch of land, on the terraced slopes of a hill offering a magnificent view of the lake". Well, you can perhaps get a tiny glimpse of the water, but it is by no means a "magnificent view". Mostly the view is the row of cottages in front of you. Also from the webpage "The hotel gives guests the amazing experience of living besides a lake." Untrue. It is not beside the lake. It is 10 to 15 minutes walk to the lake. Again from the webpage, "with easy accessibility to every part of the town." Well, only if you consider a minimum autorickshaw fare of Rs 100 is "easy accessibility" Other reviews have given very poor reports on the restaurant. We had only one meal there, which was one meal too many. I would not recommend this property at all. I would never stay here again.

The hotel is nice. It is located beside the Ooty lake. But only a few rooms are lake facing. Rooms are comfortable. The bed is a bit smaller in size, though. Location is good. Staff is good and room service is very fast and great. Hot water was running 24*7. Overall a good experience.

V pleasant. We stayed in Lakeview in 1997 and had good memories of the place. So when we revisited Ooty, we decided to stay here again, & are happy we did it.The food in the restaurant is also good & reasonably priced. You need to improve on the availability of TV channels & it will be useful to have an electrical tea-maker in the room.Having 24 hours hot water was great. We will stay with you again, whenever we return to Ooty!

The cupboards & doors need a look-up.Climate was the best at that period of time.Hotel lake view should gear up for some activities like a spa & also a bar facility and a shop with handy items. room and hotel did not live up to the description. we had to pay 300 IR per night for a heater. Our view was of a tree or the road.rooms needed decorating , damp patches, door had gaps. Laundry service was difficult to get hold of and with a lot of effort did manage to get 2 pairs of combats and 2 T shirts washed in 20 hrs time slot! No kettle in room had to ask room service for hot water which came in a plastic jug. Bottled water was mega expensive and you were given a jug of drinking water not a bottle. Had to request towels and toilet rolls. On the flip side once water had heated best showers I have had in India and I have done 4 weeks travelling. Staff were friendly just not well managed/organised. Not a hotel for short stay distant travellers, geared for Indians who are looking for fun resort bit like going to chalet resort in England.

Lake view hotel without basic hotel standards.
The lake view so called suite room has no basic class also , very old furniture , bad toilets , stinky rooms , old 14" TV which picture quality is blur , food quality and service is sad, only thing good with the hotel is location and the animated photographs on the internet. Beware of the photographs as you don't even get 10% of what you see.

They do not maintain and clean the room. Room was stinking, despite repeated call, house keeping attendant appeared after an hour and was in no mood to listen anything. Just changed the door mat and disappeared. We ordered coffee in the morning 6:30, though they swiftly accepted the order, I could not get my coffee before 8:00 AM that too with many angry calls. I do not recommend the hotel.

Could do a lot better!
Just didn't meet expectations. There wasn't a lake view (it was a mile away) and more like staying at a low grade 1950's holiday camp! The condition of the bungalows was poor with insecure windows and doors. The open fire was a nice option and needed as it was cool at night. The restaurant left a lot to be desired and didn't offer the range of things the menu suggested. The staff were kind and helpful although we did feel pressured to eat our evening meal there by the staff (we didn't).

The hotel itself was nice. the cottages were neat and comfortable. But for a 3 star hotel, the restaurant left a lot to be desired. The food was absolutely tasteless. Had to hunt for decent food in town each day as the hotel had such bad food. Not even the plain dal was edible....Ooty gets so cold in august, its impossible to put you feet on the floor....and the floor having ceramic tiles it was freeeeeeeezing!!!! A carpet in the living area and in the bed room would be a great comfort!

HOTEL LAKEVIEW- POOR HOUSEKEEPING & NO LAKEVIEW
Firstly Hotel Receptionist seemed not at all responsive to our needs; just laboriously doing her work like she was extending favours to us.Housekeeping very poor; despite giving keys in morning no cleaning done to the cottage and had to call again in evening to do the same, but their staff were supposed to work in day only. After many calls got changed the bedsheets, and after few more call got fresh towels. HOUSEKEEPING DEFNITELY A BIG LETDOWN, AND RECEPTIONIST A TOTAL FAILURE IN HER JOB. The hotel location far off from city and approach road very narrow. However, a few tourist attractions are nearby. Room Service sometimes surprises you by knocking earlier than expected. The main door lock from inside of the cottage doesnt lock and can be opened by a simple push. Curtains quality very inferior and not at all serving its purpose. Overall not a good place to spend your hard earned holiday.
