This property had a fabulous view of the water. The sunrises and sunsets were spectacular. The bed was very comfortable. The bedroom window is right by the elevator so I heard everybody talking as they got off and on the elevator. Limited airflow in the bedroom as well. For the most part, it was pretty hot. I did like the air conditioner in the living room. I don't know that I would recommend this for a person taller than 5' 10". The mirrors, shower head and ceiling fans are all quite low. I'm over six foot and there was a lot of crouching that needed to be done.

The room was sooo Hot. The 3rd night We had to sleep in the living room just to be able to get a decent nights sleep. other than that, it was nice. They had everything you needed to cook and eat on. We even left some condiments that we bought for the next people who’s staying there. The view is beautiful & literally a small beach right in front of your patio. The cafe down the street at the marina is delicious & beach bums is good too.

Nice Location very quiet and close to Maalaea Harbor and Maui Aguarium. Reserved Parking and Unit are very well equipped. Everything was in perfect working conditions. Overall my family and myself are very please with our staying in this nice property!

The condo needs serious updating. We loved the location though. The condo was not very clean. The AC doesn't get back to the bedroom. Great windows though! Saw a couple roaches.

Just ok!
Upon arrival check in was extremely easy....call the number, get a code, enjoy your stay! Walking into the condo I was disappointed. The furnishings were dated and mismatched. You could tell the walls had atleast 20 coats of paint on them. The pool is tiny but nice and although the grounds are very well kept, they are small as well. The couch was so grubby that we laid towels down on it to protect us from the grime, but also to keep us from adding to the muck. The layout is fine, but the bedroom has no air and got very warm. I would definitely recommend that the owner get new furnishings.....it could really change the whole attitude of this place. The customer service from CRH was outstanding! I called about no wifi connection and they were happy and fast in helping me. The VIEW IS GORGEOUS but at this complex, the balcony view is blocked if sitting, you really have to stand to take advantage (nothing that the owners can do here, just the way it was built, but it is obstructive.) The balcony furniture needs to be replaced, can you say "yard sale find?" Ugh! But really, the view is just dreamy, fall asleep listening to the waves! We didn't use the kitchen much, but it was nice to have, as was the washer/dryer. We adjusted to the condo overtime and I learned to be ok with it's faults. Central location between resort towns so we had lots of choices for restaurants and shops both north and south. I wouldn't stay here again unless furnishings were updated and I was on a budget.

Pros: location was center of Maui so it was convinent to get to all the other side of the island. However is part of Maui is usually windy with winds more than 10mph so highly don’t recommend staying here. Cons: - each condo is own individually by different people so the check in process is more of a hassle. You have to see who owns it and call that certain number to check in to get your code to the condo. - we were in room 208 with 1 king and 1 queen bed... the place is SUPER outdated with a musty smell, outdated furniture that’s faded, and hangers that’s dusty so you know it hasn’t been used for awhile. - bed is hard - sheets didn’t look clean and looks old so we used the extra sheets to put over the beds and sofas - the overall atmosphere just didn’t feel clean so didn’t enjoy our stay - saw a few bugs on the carpet the second and third day... called to moved to a different location or hotel but they offered to moved us to a different room only. Recommendation... spend the extra 200-300$ on a nicer place. Won’t ever stay here or recommend to friends and family.

perfect location on the island. close to everything and pretty much right on the beach. loved the convenience of having the kitchen and washer/dryer in the room. place is a little run down (Door needs to be closed hard, furniture is dingy) but overall, I'd stay here again. bonus - turtles slept on the beach right outside our rooms every night. awesome to see

At first glance it was bautiful
We were very impressed on first inspection. Our condo was relatively newly renovated with nice modern decor. The bed was very comfortable! By the first night we were noticing a bug infestation in the kitchen. Tiny but plentiful, must have been a nest in the wall shared with the bathroom. We were super careful about cleaning up dishes ASAP and not leaving food out but the bugs were rampant. We also saw a mouse a few times in our unit and it was clear that this was not a new problem with the glue trap under the stove and the electronic deterrent plugged into the wall. it was a ground floor unit and an older building so I totally get that it is easy for them to come in. It just kinda creeped me out. We had trouble with getting the washing machine to start but did finally get the right combination of setting to run a load. The building staff didn’t seem to care about our concerns, they seemed a little disorganized as if they didn’t even know we were there when we went to check out... it was weird but not difficult. I believe the distinction comes from being a renter not an owner. We loved the fresh ice on arrival, the ability to use a cooler and beach items was really appreciated. There were plenty of dishes and small appliances in the kitchen and we enjoyed the outside bbq several times. We had a beautiful view of the ocean and enjoyed many breakfast and late dinners sitting on the lanai, cooling off in the breeze and watching the waves.

Centrally located
We had a great time staying at Island Sands. It is centrally located to many of the island hot spots, but is a relatively quiet location to return to at the end of the day. Amazing turtle watching from the deck as well. Just a quarter mile from the Maui Ocean Center in one direction, and a nice beach park in the other. We would definitely stay here again.

Very nice place! Quiet with view of the ocean from the 6th floor. Kitchen is well equipped, beds are comfortable and the interior is pleasant. It's a short walk to the sandy beach. Can't say anything about service as it is a condo and there is no housekeeping. But I need to rate it so I give it three points. (neutral) There is an office where one can get information on trips and restaurants - so that can be considered "service" The reason I didn't give cleanliness 5 points: Someone left a bag of sugar in the cabinet which attracted sugar ants. Perhaps the cleaners should have seen and removed that. One bath needs a bit of bleach to remove mold on the caulking. I highly recommend this condo for people who like a quiet, relaxing stay. Just remember to not leave food, especially sugary and greasy food on the counter. Put it in the fridge!

Nice condo with fully stocked kitchen and washer / dryer. Close to a beach park and within walking distance to a gas station with coffee. Nice people around and a few condo group activities to help you meet people.

Excellent place! The condo comes equipped with everything you need so that it is more than a hotel room. Besides, it is located meters from the beach so at night you fall asleep listening to the ocean waves.

The room all in all wasnt too bad, nice kitchenette, beautiful view, nice pool. The details of the room the longer stayed was not appealing. We had tiny little "ants" all over the place, in our bathroom, kitchen counters, on the couches. Any food left out as immediately covered in ants. We had to keep everything off the counters and tops of everything. The AC unit in the living room felt great but only reached the living room. The bedroom was absolutely horrible, hot and muggy the entire time we stayed, even with multiple fans going. I received a call about my complaint and they informed me the AC was only for the living room and could only offer another fan. The AC unit leaked water on the deck continuously so the deck was always slipper if not towel dried.

Way too many GIGANTIC COCKROACHES. There were several everyday during the hours we were in the condo... who knows how many while we were out. This really took away from our enjoyment, we were afraid to sleep at night. I understand it's a tropical environment, but this was HORRIBLE!!! and I do know that other condos in the area did not have them.

The location near the aquarium is fantastic! You are centrally located on the island, so a trip anywhere is a breeze. Dedicated parking spot. Incredible unobstructed close ocean view. Clean BBQ poolside to use. Small pool but clean.

Maalea Bay Maui
CRH - Island Sands is a nice place located on Maalea Bay. The few things you need to know: If you arrive on a weekend or after hrs. you must call the 800 # on your Hotels.com printout. The phone on the wall doesn't work & it was a little frustrating at 1st. They will give you your Condo unit # & code to get in. This should have already been provided for us in my opinion. However, the people I spoke w/ @ CRH were great help. We had to go down to their office and get our "Welcome" packet. Also, remember to get the wifi-code because that wasn't provided either at 1st. Bring your own toiletries, only the small hotel size soaps provided. Dish/Laundry soap provided. Our screen door was broken & didn't close but I didn't call that in. The place is older but kept up pretty nice. The best thing was the lanai ocean view on the top floor & the ocean sounds. We enjoyed having our morning coffee & breakfast out there watching the ocean, boats & folks on the local beach just down the road. Close to everything. A couple nice restaurants right there on the harbor, walking distance. The front desk is open business hrs. during the week and the gal can assist you w/ excursions if you choose, but you can do this on your own and save $$$. Their tours are excellent just pricey. Just make sure you are not getting into a timeshare scam, if you book yourself, just ask when you book. Our stay was very pleasant and relaxing. Another well done from Hotels.com! thanks...y*

Beautiful view, one of the best you'll find.
The view is beautiful, all amenities are there for the using. The decor is dated, and it could definitely be cleaner. The windows are the old Louvre kind so they're noisy in the wind. The A/C is an old unit that doesn't cool the 2nd bedroom area. The View makes up for the cons.

First room had little bugs in the bathroom all over the tub and sink. We were moved from the room to another room on the 6th floor which had a better view and no bugs. Checkout was at 11:00, we were called around 9:00 to see if we were ready to check out because they had a newly wed couple that needed the room so we then felt rushed on getting out.

best ocean view ever
It all depends on the room, we didn't know which room until we checked in and lucked out. Great amenities including snorkeling gear in condo. Ceiling fans really made it comfortable especially in the bedroom. Great location and close to all the nice beaches especially for snorkeling. Would come back anytime!

LOVE MAUI!
WHEN I WALKED IN I COULD SEE THE OCEAN AND IT WAS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! GREAT TO HAVE MEALS AT LANAI WATCHING THE OCEAN AND TURTLES! EVERYTHING WAS CLEAN, AND HAD EVERYTHING I NEEDED IN THE KITCHEN. THEY HAD NEW GRILLS AND I HAD WONDERFUL BARBECUE WITH FRIENDS BY THE POOL. ENJOYED MY 10 DAYS, AND IT WAS HARD TO LEAVE!

Condo close to the beach
First, this is a condo, not a hotel. The info we used to book it never said it was a condo. Had we known that, would not have booked it. It had no housekeeping, no on-site staff, no toiletries provided. When we checked in, we had to call the emergency number to get access to our room because the "office" closed at 3:30 in the afternoon! The air conditioning unit, which was one small window unit, leaked water onto the living room floor/rugs for 3 days before anyone came to fix it even though we called them the 1st day. The ceiling fan in the bedroom did not work. The AC unit was too small to cool the entire unit. AND, the AC was on a timer that cut off every 6 hours!
