Great location
The location is great for transportation,restaurants and clubs. The staff seemed welcoming and aproachable. The only thing I had an issue with is the kitchen,it's in need of an upgrade. The utensils and appliances needs to be of better standard. I will however recommend this place to friends.

Reception staff were so friendly and helpful, however the pool staff were rude and wouldn’t let people staying at the hotel use the sunbeds/pool. They prioritised giving their own kids a sunbed rather than paying customers. Rooms were a great size and location was good.

We are very sorry that you had such an impression. But, the children you are talking about were children of the guests of the hotel, and may be ,only one was child of the staff member. They all played very amicably and didn't interfere with anyone.In addition, we do not provide sun beds for the children, only for adults.

Cheap, clean and friendly. Would recommend.
Friendly staff, clean room, stayed in a spacious room with 3 other girls, maid came everyday to clean and provide all necessities, pool was decent, just what we needed for a cheap girls holiday.

Not as good as expected
Was expecting more from this hotel after reading reviews. Was ok. Beds were not memory foam mattress per website. Air con was set to 21° and couldn’t be lowered so if in a large room the box isn’t strong enough to cool the whole room. Couldn’t shower with the door closed without turning the shower off with your backside. Couldn’t turn around your sun lounger to face the sun whilst at the pool. Asked to book loungers as pool gets busy even though it was totally quiet there.

Great front desk. Room was more than expected with large balcony and view. Good location to walk to nightlife and also to St Julians bay. No breakfast buffet.

Good Value With Thoughtful Owner On Site
Great for access to bars etc in St Julians. Easy walk to Silma for water transfer to Valetta or new shopping centre. Good value for money Be aware of major building work in the area

Good for longer stays, convenient location
Great room, perfect location as it is nearby restaurants, cafés, a bus stop and the nightclubs, but in the corner of a more quiet road and therefore doesn't receive too much noise. Easy connection to airport, room was very clean and has 24-hour reception if you're a party-harder. Got generously sunburnt after a swim in the pool (no regrets!). Couldn't figure out whether they offered breakfast and if so where, but would definitely stay again.

It's the little things...
Nice hotel, but the little things matter and some little things let it down. No wine glasses or mugs in kitchen. Exceptionally cheap loo roll. Patio door did not entirely close so quite noisy, toaster could only be used in one socket next to the bed. Air con not heating when it was cold. Bin by pool area not emptied for days so overflowing. The staff were lovely, friendly, could not do enough for you and what I've said gives a more negative review than intended. But all these small things combined were annoying.

Good value for money good location
The rooms was nice and cosy good value for money . Great location in the centre. The staff all seemed nice and welcoming. I was disappointed that once we got there our hotel room door locking system didn't work but we was allocated another room. The room did have some damp which looked like it was painted over. Room had no tea or coffee which was disappointing. Wifi connection was poor also there was no bin in the room as it was just in the bathroom.

Thank you for your review. Just few moments: Tea and coffee are not supplying in self catering apartments, and as you mentioned bin in the bathroom, please note , the second bin was under the kitchen sink inside the cupboard.

Excellent location, close to supermarkets/bars/restaurants. Two minute walk to bus stop from which you can get to most places on the island. Room was much better than expected and kept very clean throughout our stay. A crib was put in our room which was much appreciated, hotel has a lift and is pushchair friendly so recommended for families with young children. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return if we came to Malta again.

We tried the award winning restaurant that is on site and thoroughly enjoyed it Nothing was too much trouble Vending machines made great capacinos

Nice pleasant hotel on a peaceful location, though very near Paceville and the restaurants. We stayed in a room with a kitchenette, which had the basic amenities, but lacked any dishwashing detergent and sponge (and the cleaning ladies did not wash the dishes, so I’m not sure how you are supposed to do the dishes without any means). Although generally clean, the toilet smelled and the windows haven’t been cleaned for a really long time. The pool is only open from 10-18h. There is no parking on the street, virtually all parking space in St Julian is reserved for residents (mind the street signs), although we were lucky to find a parking lot nearby for 5 eur/night.

A jewel in the crown of St Julians Bay hotels.
The Dean Hamlet occupies a great position on a hill overlooking the penthouses and rooftop gardens of others around and great views of the bay. Probably one of the best views in a most desirable area of Malta (given lots of wealthy people are building penthouse views there.) It is a well run private hotel which is thoughtfully managed, with attention to detail. We were not surprised to hear that the mattresses are special hotel orthopaedic standard as we had a great peaceful nights sleep. Great easy to join WIFI and English T.V. Good luggage storage. Great air condition given it was 30 degrees and sunny. Loads of hot water in the shower. Spacious rooms with a little balcony and chairs to enjoy the exclusive view which was not expected but extremely welcome in this prestigious area. Also a pool to cool down in and sunbathing area. Reception has snack machine and drinks All of the staff from reception to maids were very thoughtful and attentive. Great bars and eateries nearby with good recommendations from the hotel as to where and what to do. In addition the Dean Hamlet represents great value for money in comparison to some of the huge corporate hotels that dominate the bay. We loved our stay there and would definitely highly recommend to other travellers and will return.

Good deal with good quality
The room was adequate and very clean. The receptionists were very helpful with all sorts of inquiries. The quality of the breakfast was average and could be somewhat improved (e.g. by offering fruits). The surrounding of the hotel is not very attractive, including the available view from the hotel room to the harbor area.

Very good hotel - Very poor breakfast
Location and hotel excellent, the only but major downside was the breakfast. We paid extra for the breakfast but after one day asked for our money back as it was no more than tea as toast. Disappointing as the rest of our stay was excellent.

Close to Everything, Please Extend the Pool Hours
Decent hotel close to everything in St. Julians. We did the breakfast one morning and realized it was better to just walk to McDonalds. We checked in around midnight, and everything went fine. It was a good balance of what you get for the price. My only suggestion to management is to extend the pool hours. The pool closes each day at 6:00. However, after a long day of sightseeing, we would have loved to come back to the pool to relax and cool off, especially since it can get quite hot.
