Simple and Central
The accommodations served their purpose...central and convenient. The pictures do not appropriately represent the room, but the room was clean and serviceable nonetheless. The bathroom is not attached to the room, so that is something I feel could have been spelled out more clearly. Would be an incredible place for some college kids looking for simple and inexpensive accommodations in the middle of the city. The storage lockers were nice, allowing us to keep our luggage at the hotel after checking out while touring the city.

Great location. Good conditions for a friends trip. A less favorable aspect is the absence of toilet in the room. The accommodation is on the 4th floor and the building has no lift, which can be a handicap for people with reduced mobility.

We paid over $400 to sleep in a tiny room up a flight of stairs, no elevator, on a poor mattress on metal frame with springs. Room was clean but no AC (only a floor fan) and no screen on window. Bathroom was remodeled and best asset in room but we had to request soap and shampoo. No amenities. Lobby window on 2nd floor. One staff person who checked us in and took our bags up the stairs. Very pricey for what we got. Location was good for central Madrid sights.

Highly recommend for younger travelers
The location is impressive and quite close to everything for walkability sake. The hostel itself is a little run-down, with small rooms, a confusing layout, no elevator (which can be problematic from an accessibility standpoint), problematic wifi, and offers minimum amenities. That said, the cost was reflected both the benefits of the location and the meager condition. The staff was quite knowledgeable about local sites and hotspots, and helped to make the check-in process relatively easy. I would highly recommend for younger travelers with a comfortable budget.

It was a budget room of course, so the room was small, but the check in was smooth enough. The rooms windows weren't able to be locked which freaked us out a bit, but the staff reassured us no one comes in that way. It was nice for the price. Really close to the main plaza, all the shops, restaurants, and sites walking distance.

The hotels looks nothing like the photos in the website. This place doesn't even have an elevator to go to the 4 floor and register with your heavy suitcases. I have to say that people in the reception was very kind and helpful with public transportation and other local direction. Overall the price for the stay is too expensive compare to other places with better quality and location.

The only good thing about this hotel was the location, more then that there is nothing else to say. The price of the room it is higher more to what they offer, they are selling you its location and thats it, because the room, the service, cleanliness and amenities were very very poor. I won't take it again.

This hostel (not a hotel) should be delisted from the Hotels.com website. It is a flop-house apartment building that is re-habbing a number of floors to be hostel sleeping areas. It is not suitable in its current (May 2017) condition to serve as a place to let rooms to any human being. There is no elevator, the stairs are rickety, the handrail is gouged in several places, there is insufficient dim lighting, the entrance hall is cluttered with building materials. I felt unsafe and unclean in this place. I am confident that the City of Madrid has neither permitted the current renovation work nor issued a Certificate of Occupancy or equivalent. Avoid this hostel at all or any costs.

Economical, City Center.
I'm in Madrid for a few months so I try to be economical. I don't spend the day in my room while here, just need a comfortable, clean place to sleep and a reasonable bathroom in the center of the city. This is one such place, there are others.

The hostal is conveniently located just a few minutes from Sol. There is a plethora of shops, bars and eateries nearby. The rooms are a bit too small, however, they are really clean. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

My best friend and I spent two nights at this hostal. The staff was friendly and very helpful, great customer service overall. The location is unbeatable, close to Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and Plaza Santa Ana. The room was small but very clean and pleasant smell. We were aware that this place was a budget accommodation, however; since Madrid's weather experienced some of the hottest summers in Europe (the temperatures in July average was as high of 31.2 Celsius) we were expecting that the air were turned on in the room prior to arrival. That was not the case. Not only the AC did not work properly, but it was turned off once we left the apartment in the morning. When we returned to the room, we found out that the AC had been turn off. I explained this to the guy at the front desk, and was told that the AC was working perfectly. He suggested to open the windows at night if we felt the AC was not working. Due the high temperatures we did not get much sleep here. We were not offered a refund nor a discount. I would not recommend this place.

Lo mas malo q estuve hospedado en mi vida, recepcion en 2 piso, no me ayudaron con las maletas por las escaleras, no pudimos dormir la cama destruida, colchon roto, no tienen placares para colgar la ropa, la publicidad q ofrecen es engañosa, me cobraron 200 euros la no cche y no me devolvieron en dinero para retirarme ,etc

El establecimiento dista mucho de lo mostrado en las fotos. Nos alojaron en la 21. Habitación sin aire y tuvimos que limpiar nosotros el ventilador porque de la suciedad que tenía no daba ni aire. La cama, bien, sin más. El baño muy estrecho e incómodo. Sin jabón ni similares. Para no volver

La habitación como tal (individual en mi caso) muy pequeña, con baño privado, y la decoración sobria y se ve que algún pequeño esfuerzo han hecho. En general mejor que la media (de hostales-casa del centro de este estilo) en este aspecto. Alguna cosa positiva más... el baño estaba bien... toallas y dispensador de jabón... la presión del agua muy bien... y por supuesto la ubicación. Cuando llegué la recepción estaba cerrada. Aparecía un teléfono. Llamé y me dijo el de recepción que tenía que esperar entre 20/25 minutos porque había tenido una urgencia. Esto era a las diez y media de la noche y tener que esperar hasta las once con las maletas sin ningún sitio donde poder esperar es inaceptable. Otro gran defecto era un intenso olor a tabaco en la habitación. No sé de dónde venía... abrí las ventanas un rato... las cerré otro rato... nada, no se iba. Para completar... dejé el cartelito de hacer la habitación (sólo estuve dos noches)... y cuando volví estaba girado y no la habían hecho. Seguramente sería un gracioso... pero si lees este comentario y te pasa a ti también... quizás sea que de vez en cuando la persona encargada no tiene ganas de hacer la habitación, le da la vuelta y ya tiene excusa.
