This is good but basic, budget accommodation. If you keep that in mind and set your expectations accordingly, you will not be disappointed. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the facilities perfectly adequate - although perhaps the shower tended to be a bit tepid. If you want an economical place to lay your head while you enjoy the many things Galway has to offer, then I would certainly recommend Corrib Village.
Check in was quick and easy, the staff were friendly and helpful. There's an on-site cafe and shop, too.
There's a frequent shuttle bus into town if you need it, but it's only a 25 minute walk - mainly a pedestrianised path through the university grounds, so it's quite pleasant and easy. The whole area feels perfectly safe, so walking is very much an option.
In summary, if you prefer to save your money to spend in Galway, then this is excellent value. But it is budget accommodation. So if you want a TV in your room, tea and coffee, your own shower, luxury pillows and so forth, then stay elsewhere. But if you just want somewhere to sleep, don't mind sharing the bathroom and are going to be out all day, then this represents excellent value. I would certainly stay again if visiting Galway in the summer.
