No problems, great apartment
Modern, clean & tidy. Comfortable bed too. Location is a little away from the city centre, but short taxi ride or get the bus. Will be back for future Edinburgh nights out

A memorable stay.
The apartment is spacious for 4, with oaks, conflakes, coffee, sugar and tea provided. There’s a kitchen and TV hall too. Parking was free. A nearby bus stop that can bring you to city centre in less than 20min. Checkin was immediate. Will stay here if come back again!

Check in was terrible. Poor customer service
On arrival, we were told we now had to pay a hefty deposit because we'd booked through someone other than the company directly. We refused and ended up in an argument with the man who runs the desk We couldn't book in as we'd arrived early and were told we could collect keys from a key-box later that evening. On arriving at 1am they'd forgotten to leave keys for us. We had to phone the duty manager who talked us through how to gain access to their office. One of our party had to look up the computer to see which room had been allocated to us. We then got our keys from they master key box (where copies of every guest's keys were... not very secure).... Very stressful! On departure, the man grunted at us and didn't ask if we'd had a nice time, didn't apologise, didn't say goodbye. The apartments were nice and clean. The bathroom was nice and clean but the shower was horrendous as the temperature couldn't be adjusted. If anyone else in the flat used the other loo or ran a tap in the kitchen, the water was either scalding hot or freezing cold. A shower mixer could fix the problem. The kitchen has very few utensils and it would be a struggle to cook properly. Our pillows were very smelly: damp, mould smell. We didn't ask for replacements as we didn't want another fight with the man again. We won't come back

We booked it through Expedia for 2 families with 4 kids ranging 1 to 10 yrs. We were rightly guided for our late night check in. Location is exactly opposite to lochend park bus stop from Edinburgh Waverley (bus #34). Thoroughly enjoyed the stay and facilities. Highly recommended for families especially with kids. Staffs are super friendly especially Maureen. They even let us keep our luggages safe after checking out to be picked later on after sight seeing. We definitely recommend to our friends and family visiting Scotland soon and will return if we plan another trip later in life.

We loved the size of this apartment. It was very nice for our family of 5. The kitchen, and two bathrooms were nice also. The bus stops right outside.

It took us more than 20 minutes of waiting to get the key of our apartment. The front desk clerk told us to wait for a couple of minutes but never return to give us update.

The Management/Owner of the property was very kind. We stayed at this property Memorial Day weekend. We checked out on that Monday and tried getting a cab back to the train station. All cabs were booked because of a marathon going on in the city. The owner offered us a ride to the train station. We were able to catch our train on time! That was very considerate of him!

Cheap, but it does show
Firstly, it was cheap. 2 bedroom apartment in Edinburgh, really cheap. However... No response to emails before the stay, although phone was answered quickly. The apartment itself had a bit of a 'halls of residence' look about it and, although some things were nice - bedding/curtains etc, the window in one bedroom was broken (frame not the pane) and we got ourselves locked into our bedroom as the handle didn't work. TV was not installed and it took a bit of time to retune etc. Beds? were supposed to be single beds, but I don't think they were proper single bed size, very small. It wouldn't take much to make the apartment into a really nice place. If you are looking for cheap, it certainly is that. We were only looking for a bed until our train home the next day If you are looking for a base for a couple of days or more, then you get what you pay for. Would I stay again? Depends what I was looking for.

Had trouble getting hold of someone to let me in. Then although it said free parking, he tried to charge me cash for the car park. He did immediately agree to 'waive' it when I questioned him. Sofa was very uncomfortable, bed was awful, very narrow - I booked a double room and expected a double bed but it was two very small singles. TV in the bedroom didn't work. Was ok but wouldn't stop again.

Don't stay.
The property is located in not a very good area and there are very limited shops within close vicinity. The boiler kept on breaking on everyday of our stay. We had booked two apartments and faced the issue in both the apartments. It looked like the property isn't maintained properly.

Great place to stay, clean, warm and comfortable. Although not in the centre of Edinburgh, the bus service into city centre from just outside the apartments is good, every 15 minutes.

Communication and reception was very good. Instructions for Key collection very clear. Apartment was clean and serviceable with working kitchen but very tired. Marks on settees and carpet stained. Bedroom TV not working. Bed linen very worn. Beds a bit lumpy. Towels odd colours and also seen better days. Could be really great with a bit of TLC.

Warm welcome, friendly staff and spotlessly clean.
Warm welcome by the friendly staff at check in, who were happy to help out with answering any questions and the apartment was spotlessly clean. I'd definitely stay in this venue again and recommend it to friends and family. Value for money. :D

Good for one night - not very friendly compared to other apartments in Edinburgh
The check in process was a mess. Given a room that was already being used. Opened the door to find another family in the room. Very unsettling night as I was waiting for a stranger to walk into our apartment. The apartment lacked clean linens and felt like a low end motel. The location is very convenient and would be a good place for a young couple but not for a family. We were glad to leave in the morning.

Very nice apartments ideal for our stay coming through to see The Rolling Stones. Apartment was a bit out from the city centre, this was the only downside however we knew this when we booked. Otherwise apartment was ideal. Absolutely spotless. Beds were small but not uncomfortable. Owner friendly and helpful. Would stay here again as price was very reasonable and offers great value for money

Check supposed to be from 2pm - our room wasn't ready till after 4pm Secure entrance to the building was broken Lock on living area window totally broken Apartment was in a residential block - stunk of weed the whole 2 days Booked a 2 bedroom place - was given a 3 bedroom place - the 3rd bedroom had a discarded lighter and paperwork left in it so obviously no cleaning happened in this room On the plus side it was OK for the price but I don't like being booked in late where locks are broken and place not totally cleaned up

Great Base for Weekend in Edinburgh
A small group of us stayed at Lochend Serviced Apartments for a friend’s 30th and as a base to go out in the city over the weekend the apartments were ideal. On arrival the staff were friendly and checked me in with no hassle. The beds were very comfortable and clean with enough space for two adults in each room. Provisions were provided in the kitchen such as milk, bread, tea and coffee which was a nice addition. The only minor thing that I could pick up on was the lack of soap or hand towels in the bathroom which we got around by using our shower gel and bath towels provided by the apartment.

The apartment was spacious, clean, with working heating system. Two bedrooms, one with king size bed, the second with to single beds. Kitchen with refrigerator, hub, oven, kettle, dishes, silverware, cookware. Well located, next to the bus stop. There are not any store or restaurant near to it, so be prepared. If you use a sat nav, it may take you to the other side of the street, look for the Lochend Serviced Apartments sign.

Would highly recommend they provide you with everything you need to have a comfortable stay good size apartments lovely and clean staff were really friendly and helpful we booked two apartments for the weekend the only problem was we were in totally different blocks so If booking more than 1 apartment would ring to ask them to make sure uses are all together but overall it was a lovely stay in a beautiful place

Great Location - Great Price!
For a family of 5 (3 children) this was the most affordable way to spend a weekend in Edinburgh. I did have doubts when reading the reviews, but decided to book due to the cost of alternative accomodation. To be honest, I'm glad I took the chance and don't have any regrets whatsoever. The staff were very helpful, and replaced a faulty kettle immediatley with no questions asked. Overall, I would definatley consider staying here again in future.

Having travelled 350 miles we were looking forward to a comfortable bed for the night. However despite numerous phone calls we weren't able to get in touch with the anyone to get hold of the keys. Obviously it is not possible for us to rate the cleanliness or comfort of the apartment as we were not able to get through the front door. Very dissapointing experience

The apartments were okay however it smelled of stale cigarettes and there is no staff anywhere. I would have been happy with the accomodation if I was alone or with friends but I wasnt comfortable having my wife and kids stay there regardless of the price. The cherry on top was when I realised there were not any smoke alarms in the apartment.
