"Nice boutique hotel close to beach & 5th Ave."
We stayed in August 2014 and had an excellent time. Very safe location across from a park (plaza). Very close, but not too close to the excitement of 10th and 5th avenues and Coco Bongo (we didn't actually go to Coco Bongo, but it's very close if that's your thing). Many excellent eating opportunities very close by. All staff were super friendly and helpful. As well we met some really nice people staying there at the same time. Very short 3 block walk to the beach or just hang out at the pool that was cleaned each evening. We would totally stay at this hotel again.

"Good Location, great staff!"
The staff was great, very friendly and helpful, with information about Playa as well, speaking english and spanish. Great hotel, very clean, the flow on the shower was pretty week. Good and fresh breakfast which is made especially for you by request. The hotel is 7 min. walking to the beach, although I preferred going to a beach which is not close to the hotel, since I liked it better. It was quiet at night, although the walls are thin, so you could hear sometimes people passing by your door, but no noise of parties. I would recommend it to my friends.

"would stay again."
I really liked this room for the price that we got it for. I was nervous because there weren't any reviews on it and it was so cheap, but when we go there it was a huge room with two beds and air conditioning and a great shower. My complaint is that it is next to a night club and if you like to sleep in the hours of 1130 and 330 then this is not the hotel for you. Also the lock on the door is questionable at best but just lock the valuables in the safe. Overall i would stay here again for sure

"Average apartment style hotel, decent location."
The main room of the apartment was clean and spacious however the bedrooms were not as advertised. My real issue would be with Expedia and not the hotel itself. I booked a two bedroom apartment with king beds only to find out upon a rival that the hotel does not have any rooms at all with this configuration. There was one room with a king bed and the other with two double beds. Not too big a problem really but felt a little misled. The rooms were clean however the private rooftop area appeared to have not been cleaned in months and was so dirty as to be unusable. There was a layer of black dust on little swipe with your finger turned it black...really dirty! Couldn't even sit on the cushions or lounge chairs due to the grime.

"Great Staff but hotel was just so-so"
I have stayed in Playa Del Carmen a few times before and so I was familiar with the area enough that when I booked my vacation package, I wasn't too concerned about the hotel accommodations. I wanted to be close to the beach and 5th avenue where the bars, restaurants, and shops were. Since I am a solo male traveler and don't spend much time in my room, I am not very picky about accommodations, however, the design of this hotel was not very well thought out. It is kind of dark in the courtyard area. There was construction going on and it didn't seem to have any atmosphere to it. I would equate it to the "Motel 6" of Mexico. When I entered my room, I was disappointed because it was cold and "hospital" like. The only windows in the room were a set of french doors that opened to the pool area in the courtyard,...which was right near the hallway that was the entrance to the hotel, so unless I wanted everybody to see me sleeping and getting out of the shower, I had to have the shades pulled the entire time, so I got no natural light in the room. Also, the AC unit was positioned such, that the air blew right onto your head at night in bed.....which wasn't so bad except that it started to spit out droplets of water one night, making it a royal pain trying to put up towels to prevent the water from spitting on me all night long. I would probably not stay at this hotel again. I do want to reiterate that the staff was very friendly and the hotel in no way reflects the wonderful staff.

The hotel staff and cleanliness were great, but the hotel was nothing that it was advertised to be. It is 2 blocks from the beach, not beach front. Each hotel room has its own hot water heater that is about 5 gallons big, so warm showers for 2 people in a row is out of the question. You can't dial out from your room. The front desk has to do it for you. There is no parking - parking is in the street. First come, first served. The rooms were no where near sound proof. The street noise was pretty loud. The rooms had a safe, but one of ours had the lock broken out and the other, we had to buy a paddle lock for. The maintenance man was bilingual, but the rest of the stance knew no English. This hotel is an ok place to stay if you just want a bed to sleep in at night. My whole family felt this was the best vacation we've ever, in any case!
