"It was fun!!"

"Wyndham has been busy in restoring the beach area as when we were there 2 years ago, the beach just outside the boundary of the main pool was non-existent. There are now loungers in the area where water used to be. Same with the ground level suites that face the ocean - you might not be access the beach still but at least water is not lapping at the balcony door. The hotel has implemented a rule regarding placing the hotel towels and personal items to reserve loungers by the main pool and pool by Off the Hook; unfortunately, occasionally staff will remove the items after an hour. It is sad that some patrons do not like to follow the rule as everyone should have opportunity to relax by the pool. Jorge, pool and bar manager informed me that towel/reservations is a work in progress. The Wyndham front line staff including management are welcoming (Alexandro) and are willing to help out with reasonable requests. The food at the resort are superb. The buffet have variety so one never gets bored of having the same food though I can never get enough of taco chips/salsa/habanero. Thanks to Eduardo and Hector for introducing me to the lovely hot sauces. Sebastian, thank you for remembering my pot of decaf coffee with hot leche (milk) in the morning. Suggestions: please reinstate small bills for exchanging for large bills and bring back my popcorn. "

"Second time staying at Grand Hayatt Playa del Carmen. Great hotel right on the beach. Pools are amazing and refreshing. Staff 5 stars. Love the location near downtown Playa where there are many restaurant options."

"Excellent hotel in excellent location. The lobby personnel is very nice, the hotel and the room is very clean with everything you would need. There’s a garage underneath the hotel with elevator access. All equipment seems new and good quality in the room. The hotel is a few minutes walking distance from the 5th ave. The walmart is next door. Similarly the town hall is around the corner with lots of activities at night. I wouldn’t want to stay in a different place in my future visits to Playa. In fact I liked it so much that I extended my stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to other travelers."

"It was a great Hotel Staff were all amazing. Food was pretty good Roof top patio was AMAZING FOOD!! And lots of fun We met some wonderful people! It is loud with the music on the rooftop patio but the younger people love it! Definitely recommend "

"Very nice clean hotel. The roof deck was below standards and not at all as pictured. The public bathroom was very dirty and unusable. All, no wifi in the room for 2 weeks and no one cared."

"I loved Playa Palms and want to return when I can. The best thing about the hotel is the people, starting with Alfredo and continuing to every staff I met, they are welcoming, friendly and helpful. I have never had a better experience with hotel staff. They dont have the luxury hotel type of service, but everything I want. The hotel itself is classic ocean front. Not a new, hotel with no character, this one has all kinds of character. As a result, the condition is a touch dated, but very well maintained. The value is unbelieveable, and I got what I wanted a great location for a good price. Other places might have bells and whistles that Playa Palms dont have, but you pay for them. This was exactly what I wanted. Oh, almost forgot. Its two blocks from Avenida Cinco, right in the middle of all the action, but far enough from the noise to not bother you."
