“Definately worth staying at”
The hotel was great, it was amazing to look out of your hotel room window and see across Bangkok. Although the view was restricted slightly by the smog which is to be expected in a city. We stayed in a junior suite in the sky zone and the room was very large with a window that took up one wall. The bed was very comfortable and it was nice to use a shower that wasn't over a bath! Using so many lifts got slightly tiresome as there was one from the entrance to the lobby on 18th floor and then another up to your room. However, we chose the hotel because it was so tall so it didn't bother us too much.
“Best hotel stay in Bangkok”
Even if we nit-pick, we really cannot find anything to complain about our three nights hotel stay in December 2010. It was such a good experience the hotel is now within our top 5 hotel stays so far. We did treat ourselves however and stayed in a junior suite room on the 73rd floor (space zone). We had an amazing view and an amazing room that didn’t disappoint. Robes, slippers, mini-bar, high quality bathroom and bedroom fixtures and fittings. The bed was big and comfy. We found the staff and service to be excellent. The hotel does double as a tourist attraction being the tallest building in Bangkok and indeed Thailand so you have to expect it to be busy. The pool was reasonably sized and was never too busy. There was a decent gym, pool table and even a mini fish spa. There was a mini-mart too in the lobby which was very reasonably priced considering and sold everything they sell in the mini-bar but cheaper. A good introduction to having fish eat the dead skin and bacteria off your feet! There is also an excellent spa service if on the very pricy side. There were plenty of massage places just outside of the hotel at a fraction of the price but you get what you paid for. With our stay we each got a free 20 minute foot massage in the spa – wow, best foot massage in Thailand! There were plenty of dining options and the breakfast service included in our rate was fantastic! The best breakfast service and food choice we have ever seen (so far!).
“location”
hotel is brill location not quite so good for tourist however transport is in abundance and cheap
“Stunning hotel”
Only stayed for one night but what a view! It was definitely worth paying the extra for a suite so that we had floor to ceiling windows for views across Bangkok. We also experienced a thunder storm which made for some fantastic photos.
“Great hotel, excellent service, would have liked bigger windows.”
We could not fault the hotel service, it was excellent. The hotel itself was brilliant, the views from the top, the breakfast and the facilities excellent.
“Very good food”
I was disappointed with the view.. Was a small window less than 1 meter across I would say.. The room was was cleaned daily, very big, not much storage for clothes but still ok.. The lifts are fast and separated from public ones so never full and require key to operate so secure.. The hotel has a viewing tower for free so you can see all Bangkok... the breakfast is great.. I never see such a massive selection.. I think every taste is catered for here... We had dinner which was less impressive and costly.. We book another night.. Strangely cheaper through expedia.. Another bad point was wifi.. Charged 10pounds per day!!.. This is shocking for an hotel this day an age... Should be free.
“Great experience staying here”
Great experience staying here, we were on the 70th floor and the view was great, although there is some kind of screen on the windows, which prevents photos - quite annoying. The hotel was also very busy, with people coming in just to look around and go up the viewing area, which was a little irritating. Perhaps a lift only for guests would be good. Overall, I'd definitely stay again. The room was good and the hotel in a nice spot.
“Disappointing 3 star Hotel”
Have visited Baiyoke Sky every year over 5 years (9 nights this visit) and the level of service and comfort has become disappointing. In general the staff seem unmotivated, they dont smile and are less welcoming than other hotels in comparison. The breakfast is a fair spread, however the tables remain uncleaned, no service in clearing plates, no refills and though the time stated 6 to 10am, the manager starts to push diners out by 9.30 happens everday or they start clearing up from serving tables. This Hotel is far to big and is rather impersonal- only good in its location as nearby they have wholesale shops and traders. Rooms we booked not available - were upgraded (so Called) to same facility- however rooms are rather big. Avoid booking taxis from door man- they try and stich you up with some Jewellery stop as the taxis guys get a fuel coupon and they waste your time. Get a metered Taxi as they are totally reliable. Would not rate this hotel higher than a 3 star. Generlal cleanliness is maintained. Book if you just want to crash out for a few nights. Location of hotel is ideal for clothes and shoe shoppings as there are 100's of these wholesale shops - Bargain at all times.
“Terribly disappointing”
Decided to book this for my last week in Bangkok before flying home. It had a heavy price tag, but thought "what the hell, may aswell" after looking at the photos, it looked comfortable and somewhat classy. When I got there it was anything but... The room was shabby, the only thing I could see that made it expensive was the sky zone view. The internet costs like £8 a day which is a total rip off. It has a large breakfast buffet, with that, the view and the mini driving range is the only thing going for this hotel. If you have more money then sense, book this hotel. If they ask to take a photocopy of your credit card for deposit, refuse to let them. They lost the copy and I had to cancel my card.
“Not so great Hotel”
It seems that the hotel has tired look and in needs of renovation. The staff in Cofee House were inadequate in number so the service was not up to scratch and neither was the food. The AC in the room did not fuction well and even after complaining AC was not sorted out to our satsfaction still too it was cold so had to swithch off at night. The resident outside visitors to the top viewing galary etc were not sufficientlt segregated si it always tooo croweded
