We spent one night in Ascona. Our Hotel room had the most beautiful view we've ever had (it was a lake view room). Apart from the balcony, the room was a normal hotel room, nothing special but also nothing to complain about. Everything was clean and we were overall super happy with our stay. We would have stayed another night if our plans permitted. Parking is unfortunately not at the hotel though - it's in a public parking garage that's not directly next to the hotel.

Overnight stay
A very nice hotel situated on the lakeside. Well decorated and in good order. Checkin was quick and easy with friendly staff. You get a 10% reduction on your meal bill if you dine in the restaurants below, excellent food. Public parking can be found beneath a shop only a five minute walk away.

Lovely week end stay in Al Faro.Located by the lake it is one hotel we have stayed many times and will hopefully continue to visit in future. No frills but good quality value for money!

Relaxing week end stay
Al Faro by the lake has an old world charm with modernised rooms. We have stayed here several times and prefer the rooms with balcony with lake views. The stays at Al Faro has always been very nice

You pay for the location
Location is A1 and overall it is not bad. Front desk was very helpful and supportive.Mattress ok but bed frame was terrible.You want to make sure you book lake view because that is what you pay for. No elevator with lake view rooms. Otherwise better value elsewhere if you don't need promenade location. If a couple weekend getting away for nice romance then fine (if they fix the bed frames, not taking into consideration consumation activities). Ascona is quite small so most places are 5-10 min walk to promenade and restaurants. Check google map.
