The check in and check out process was disorganized and extremely long. Staff easily distracted away from their duties. Really really dislikes porters more interested in taking your baggage away from me before check in process began and didn't convey politely what they were doing. First morning required to attend a 90 minute presentation to sell us vacation share. Will not go again.

The resort itself was beautiful. The rooms were somewhat dated, and the bathroom shower had no hot water so I couldn’t wash my hair during the duration of my stay because I’d only get about a minute to two of lukewarm water to be able to rinse off before dinner each night. The staff was generally kind, though there was an expectation for tips (gentleman bringing my bags to my room, stood at the door and did not leave until I took out money - unfortunately for me, the smallest bill I had was a $20). The hotel worker running the towel hut asked if I had a husband and told me that I needed a Dominican baby in me and that he wanted to come back to Canada with me. I tried to politely laugh it off and walk away. Unfortunately, this was a daily conversation any time I had to change my towel (I travelled alone so couldn’t send someone else to do the towel exchange for me). The hotel does not provide shuttle service or transportation to/from the airport. The taxi I took claimed he would offer to drive me to the hotel from the airport for $50, pulled up to a gas station and told me I could tap my credit card, and when I did, I realize he charged me $75. Again, I was alone and it was nighttime and didn’t want to cause a fuss and jeopardize my safety. The pool and beach are great, the resort is a perfect size in my opinion, ten buildings with only two floors in each. Not too large. Plenty of restaurant and food options. The watersides on site are a fun added bonus.

We recently stayed at Zel Punta Cana and had a pleasant overall experience. The rooms were spacious, clean, and nicely designed, making our stay comfortable and relaxing. The pools were definitely a highlight—beautiful, well-maintained, and a great place to unwind throughout the day. That said, the food was average and felt quite repetitive, with similar options offered daily. The service was also just okay—nothing particularly standout, but not bad either. One downside was the beach—it’s a bit far from the main areas, and there weren’t enough sunbeds available, which made it less enjoyable at times. Overall, it’s a nice resort with great accommodations and pool areas, but there’s room for improvement when it comes to dining variety, service, and beach convenience.

Yes the property was well maintained

My stay was very good overall. The room was comfortable and well-kept, and I had no major issues during my time there. The staff was friendly, and the drinks were excellent, which definitely added to the experience. The food was also very good, but I would have liked to see the buffet open for longer hours, especially in the evening. Having a buffet option available more consistently would make a big difference for travelers. Housekeeping was a bit slow to respond at times, but nothing that negatively impacted my stay. I didn’t get a chance to explore everything on the property, so I can’t speak to the casino. Overall, a very enjoyable stay with just a few minor areas for improvement. I need definitely stay here again in the future!

The staff was top notch. Always smiling always accommodating. I would definitely stay here again.
