"Excellent stay as always "

"Welcoming reception staff. A comfortable room and bed, marred only by a few stains on a slightly tired-looking carpet, otherwise pleasant decor. Spotlessly clean bathroom. Good choice for breakfast, continental or a variety of cooked versions with adequate coffe from a machine and excellent croissants. Convenient for the theatre, restaurants etc. Following previous stays here I was surprised to see that the restaurant and bar are now closed, but there is a small selection of room service dishes."

"Large room overlooking the river was spotlessly clean. Good value 24hr parking charge with car park under the hotel. Friendly staff and very good value for money. Good location to explore Newcastle and Gateshead on foot. "

"Stayed for 1 night, overall it was a positive experience. Room was a bit too warm even after we'd adjusted the temperature control. Went to breakfast around 0930, this must have been after their busy period as some of the food, drinks and cups etc needed replenishing so a wait for our choice was had. Throughout staff we're pleasant and helpful, hotel also in a great central location. Would return if staying in Newcastle. "

"Really didn't enjoy our stay. The room was dirty especially around the windows and in poor state of repair with multiple chips in the basin. We had to climb a very old spiral staircase to get to the room which would be an issue for anyone with mobility issues. Finally we were given a choice of breakfast either at 7.15 am or 10.15 and nothing was available in between."
