Ottawa has a thousand interesting cultural attractions. Anyone who says it's boring is probably boring themselves. It's a pleasantly walkable city and I imagine the canal is spectacular once it opens for skating. I'll visit again to see more.

Go to the the War Museum, especially if you are a yank. You'll get a different perspective on the our Revolution and our War of 1812. Also, the Mint is a must visit. It's not far from the National Art Museum! Also see parliament at night!

It feels like a big city, but the citizens are friendly and welcoming like in a small town that likes tourism. We had a ball on and around Bank St, visiting restaurants and shops. We saw a show at the Bronson Centre-great music venue.

We were here during the Ottawa Tulips Festival and the drone show, it was a wonderful experience. Brittania beach is a hidden gem you need to visit too.
"Fantastic place to stay. The location was within walking distance of so many landmarks, the hotel was clean, rooms were spacious, the breakfast was amazing (breakfast sandwiches, egg bites, sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, toast, cereal, waffles and more), and the little go-bags with water, cookies and granola bars were the icing on the cake! Add in affordable parking and little perks like partial refunds for not using housekeeping; we wouldn't think twice about booking again!"
"It was clear they had recently renovated, and the housekeeping crew does an exceptional job of keeping everything clean. A pleasant stay with a sunset view over the lake!"
"The location is quiet. It feels like you're stepping into a brand new freshly built building. The cleaning staff are fantastic. It's really something little but it made a difference. They made our bed and incorporated my son's stuffed animals and personal blanket into the presentation. This just goes to show the difference between a good hotel and a great hotel. 5 stars doesn't do the Wingate in Kanata justice. I will be staying here again anytime I make my way to Ottawa/Kanata"
