The interior and exterior were as beautiful as expected. The room was large and spacious - for NYC - pretty standard for my home state of Texas. The staff was for the most part, friendly. We had direct access to a butler which was nice, but we did not require his/her assistance very often. I understand and completely agree with tipping, but it was frustrating when you’d order room service, tip, and then they would ask for you to call the butler to remove the cart - another tip. It almost felt as if anyone as much as said hello to you that you had to tip. Come to find out they tack on quite a bit of gratuity with every item you order through room service anyways...for instance, two small (8oz) glasses of apple juice was $24 according to the menu, but on the bill they came out to $32 after fees/taxes. We expected prices to be high, but I’ve stayed at many other resorts/destinations for the same amount and you receive much more. Also, there was quite a bit of mold on our shower head - odd for this type of accommodation.
Location, service, staff were excellent ; this hotel is my favorite place in New York
