I had to find a hotel in a flash in Mumbai, and for whatever reason everything was full. So, I got Lalco residency based on the satisfaction rate from other users and also because it said it was a 4-star hotel.
My review is mixed. First, it should be said that this is not a four star hotel. It is a residency (a.k.a. apartments), and the facilities are just not up to par with a four star rating. Beds are very simple, TVs pretty small, bathrooms very basic (and, in my case with some problem of smell when you flush, and no hot water when you shower). But it was clean, and... HUGE - I counted 6 sleeping rooms, living room, kitchen… Guys at reception were helpful and efficient, helped me book a cab.
Neighborhood is not exactly a plus - no sidewalk but a ditch with foul water running. There isn't much nearby, and no restaurant or convenience store at the residency itself. Some small shops up the hill, but the restaurants may or may not be recommendable. Had to stick with chips and beer.
So, overall, I cannot give a glaring review, but I am not giving two thumbs down either. It depends on your needs. If you are traveling as a group, you are OK with 2-star and 3-star appartments, reserving well in advance to get a decent rate, and are OK to shop and eat remote or call it in, that can work for you. It is safe and clean. But for the use I had to do, it was not ideal.
