Location and atmosphere

Highlight of our holiday. We stayed for 2 nights and went on 4 drives and saw so many amazing animals. Pretty much everything very close to the vehicle - which was more than I could have hoped for. Our ranger was passionate and knowledgeable as well as determined to make the most of our trip for us. We had the most incredible stay at Mont Rochelle! We were staying for our honeymoon and it was our first stay in our 2 week trip and now that the 2 weeks is up I can confidently say that we stayed in 4 5* hotels during our stay in Cape Town and Mont Rochelle was by far the best, a league above the rest. We stayed here for our honeymoon. Words cannot describe how we feel about Kapama River Lodge. This place is unbelievable. I’ve stayed at many 5* hotels, but this lodge is far more superior than any of them. Arrived earlier than the official check in time to be met by the friendliest hotel reception we have ever experienced! Beautiful lodge, recently renovated rooms. Service and food was amazing. Game drives twice daily. It was a truly memorable experience albeit a very expensive one, but you get what you pay for.

We had an amazing stay at the Shamwari Long Lee Manor. Staff provided excellent service pampering us and taking care of our every needs and I had definitely put on some weight. The meals were wonderful we sure had one of the best lamb racks and braai dinner with our ranger was fantastic. Our ranger Abel was excellent, knowledgeable and a very humble man. Truly one of the most special places in the world, no place like it. Incredible setting, delicious food and top attention to detail. Patrick and Lamla (spelling?) were terrific and looked after us like family, even driving out to buy me some zamaleks when the hotel didnt stock it. Rooms are spotless and attention to detail terrif. Chef's Warehouse restaurant is a must. This was our second visit in a year and cannot wait to come back again. Very highly recommend it.
