Loved the Dorp’s quirkiness and overall atmosphere. The rooms and bed very comfortable and well equipped. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Amazing property with amazing staff. Can’t recommend enough. 8 mins walk into camps bay; yes it’s a hill but think of it as your steps for the day plus you get the views of the bay as you drop down. Breakfast really fab plus pool area lovely. 5 stars to all the staff there

Location and atmosphere

A great stay at the Mount Nelson - exemplary service, wonderful afternoon tea with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Upgraded on arrival to a suite which got the holiday off to a great start.

We really enjoyed our stay with Zest, from lovely welcoming staff who greeted us with an ice cold drink when we were sweaty from a long plane ride, to a delicious breakfast, to a very comfortable room. The hotel is eco-conscious too so it's even better to know your stay is doing good by people and planet.

Perfect stay. Excellent service. Very comfortable room, big, clean, great view and perfect location. Room 301 was perfect and the Hotel was a very good surprise! Will certainly recommend. Small extras (water, chocolate, coffee, croissants...), all free of charge were appreciated :-)

This was an amazing place to stay during our time on Cape Town. The main thing that stands out is the staff, they are helpful beyond measure and will go above and beyond, with enthusiasm and personality. They genuinely care about their guests and will do whatever they can to help, including assisting in itineraries and bookings. A fabulous small boutique hotel 20 mins from city centre. Wonderful, knowledgeable and friendly staff. A fantastic restaurant with stunning tasting menu experience and wine list. We can highly recommend as an alternative to the city centre option

Very friendly check in at the hotel - gave us a full tour and showed us the key features in the room. Excellent club lounge with drinks and nibbles during happy hour. Comfortable and well maintained.

Truly one of the most special places in the world, no place like it. Incredible setting, delicious food and top attention to detail. Patrick and Lamla (spelling?) were terrific and looked after us like family, even driving out to buy me some zamaleks when the hotel didnt stock it. Rooms are spotless and attention to detail terrif. Chef's Warehouse restaurant is a must. This was our second visit in a year and cannot wait to come back again. Very highly recommend it.

My husband and I spent nine days in beautiful St. James Manor. We booked through Expedia and expected a small room, but I think we were upgraded as our room (Boyes) was large and beautifully appointed, with a view of the sea. This guest house is absolutely gorgeous. The furnishings are tasteful and reflect the historical nature of this beautiful house, which belongs to Rovos Rail. Our beds were large and very comfortable. This was a cut above the average airport hotel, with attention to detail in the rooms and great service.

We were impressed with South Beach and, being fractionally away from the noise and occasional seaweedy whiff of the main strip, meant that it was perfectly located in Camps Bay (still the best place to stay if you haven't been to Cape Town before). It's also conveniently located for the tidal pool where you can swim in warmer water than the sea. And all of Camp Bay's bars, cafes and restaurants are still only a few minutes walk away.
