This hotel is next level lovely. Secluded, lots of quiet spots to avoid other guests and attentive staff. Treat yourself - it will be worth it.
Amazing luxurious hotel. So peaceful with plenty of bird life to watch. If you are looking for beauty, mountains and a peaceful stay - look no further than this hotel.
This family-owned boutique hotel is a hidden gem in the Winelands. The property is immaculately maintained, and the staff go above and beyond to ensure you feel welcomed and at ease. The tranquil setting, surrounded by nature, offers a natural pool (complete with frogs), a treated pool, a hot tub, and both wet and dry saunas. The gardens and balcony provide the perfect space to relax and take in the serene views. It’s wonderfully secluded, offering peace and quiet, away from any distractions.
For improvement, I’d suggest addressing the internet connectivity, which was the only letdown during our stay. However, this small issue didn’t diminish the overall experience, which was exceptional. Highly recommended for those seeking relaxation in a beautiful, private setting.
From the moment we arrived we knew we'd found a little piece of heaven. The welcome could not have been more friendly and accommodating, the design and quality and maintenance of the buildings is immaculate. It sits in a tranquil area where the only sounds are the wind and wildlife. But the single thing that stands out the most and made our stay so special and memorable was the kindness, attentiveness, friendliness and superb service from all the staff. Even the gardeners waved a friendly "good morning" each day! Special mention needs to go to Cerene and Nicky who was absolutely superb, but the shining star was Troye. He did not miss a trick and his general knowledge and wonderfully warm personality were the best we've experienced. He's definitely found his calling in hospitality.
Angala was everything we were looking for and more and we will most definitely be back.
Thanks to everyone for giving us such a wonderful and memorable stay.
Angala Boutique Hotel was the perfect relaxing and beautiful stop for us in Franschhoek! The rooms were large and clean and the surrounding property was stunning! The service was top notch and we were sad we didn't have time to use their beautiful spa amenities.
Beautiful hotel in a stunning location. Comfortable, large bedroom with fantastic amenities. The only disappointment we had was the restrictive catering options. Breakfast was acceptable but not varied. Dinner was served only at 7:30pm and there was a set three course menu each night with only one option. We felt there ought to be a choice of three per evening. The gardens, pools and rooms were stunning.

The hotel is too far from anything to eat or shop and also is very hard and expensive to get transportation to go anywhere. You cannot repeat the breakfast and everything is charged apart, even the water. The reception does not work 24h and you are completely distant of anything if you need.
Wonderful retreat in winelands - very serene, beautiful pools and gardens, amazing, large rooms with great bathrooms, outdoor showers etc.
Would highly recommend. Food in evening is good and service is good. Staff are friendly but management could be a bit more involved
Beautiful surroundings, wow factor accommodation and incredibly accommodating and friendly staff - we absolutely loved our stay at Angala. The pools and gardens are amazing. It’s a quiet place to relax or a great place to explore the Winelands. We cannot wait to return. Thanks for making our stay perfect in every way.
And last but not least die Zimmer: auch diese lassen keine Wünsche offen. Wir würden sofort wieder buchen!!
Before arrival, we had the ambitious goal of only being at the resort to sleep. Needless to say, that plan was immediately thrown out the window as soon as we arrived. First, to find the resort, you had to take a dirt road. Then, when you think you’ve reached Angala, you are told to drive further. Further? All the way towards the mountains. We both gave each other a look of confusion but drove on, passing by a vast field of hay (or what I think was hay). Once we arrived, we were immediately ensnared by the beauty of the resort, the food, as well as the impeccable service delivered by all the employees at Angala. We didn’t want to leave and even tried to extend an extra night but fortunately for Angala they were fully booked. Definitely a magical place I will always remember from our 3 weeks holiday in South Africa.
If you're looking for privacy and exclusive services this is a place to rest and relax. A great service and kind staff since check in, I loved the spa treatment and food was delicious. My only suggestion would be to replace hair dryer for a more modern one. Oh, the wine estate closeby is worth visiting for a wine tasting and astonishing montain views!
Can't rate this gem highly enough. Don't be put off by the out of town location and guesthouse name in the title - this place is luxe magic. The staff are very happy by their own admission, and it shines through in the service. The hotel and grounds are immaculate, and yet very natural and peaceful. The room was probably in the top 3 we've had the pleasure to stay in - an incredibly large (Super King?) bed, balcony, large lounge area, log burning fire, private garden, bath, two indoor and one outdoor shower. It was very spacious, and included treats that a bigger luxe hotel would never think to - namely complimentary mini bar with wonderful wines and a full and free Nespresso selection. I'm just sad we didn't book for longer, and we'll certainly be back.
I spent a lot of time umming and ahhing about whether to book Angala, or choose a 'better known name' in town. A guest review encouraged me to opt for this place, and so I am encouraging you to do that same. I strongly recommend you don't hesitate and book a stay at Angala, I'm certain that you won't be in the slightest disappointed.
