"The view made the trip! Hearing the ocean, watching the waves - fantastic!! The room was also quite large for Japan - the biggest room by far out of the 5 hotels we stayed at."

"Difficult to communicate with staff due to language barrier. The location is a bit remote. Toiletries provided in the hot spring baths are not adequate."

"The room was very spacious, clean and new. I just wish they had cutlery and some cooking utensils, as they have a full kitchen.
The onsen facilities are very good, and they also have sauna.
The hotel is beautiful and the views fantastic.
There is not public transportation to reach the hotel."

"Great size rooms with clean spacious bathrooms.
Breakfast was expensive and mediocre. Western breakfast had small serving sizes and limited variety which was not worth the cost."

The best part of our stay in Japan - our host was incredible and attentive to all our needs, even the smallest things. The room was immaculate and traditional - exactly what we wanted. Our dine-in room experience was very special and filling. Both the private and shared onsen facilities were incredibly clean and offered amazing views of Mount Fuji. Would recommend to anyone after a luxury Ryokan experience.

One of the most beautiful ryokans I've been to. The gardens, the pond, the koi - simply stunning. Feels like you've been catapulted back in time. Location is right next to Shuzenji temple & bamboo forest. Staff was increadibly hospitable too with an eye for detail and went the extra mile in taking care of our luggae, car & my mum's rollator storage. Food (especially dinner) was very good too. Lots of small dishes I had never seen arranged like this before, even though I have lived in Japan in...

After being in Japan for 10days and staying in relatively modern hotels with small rooms, it was delightfully refreshing to be staying in a hotel where room space was more than adequate. Yes, the decor is old fashioned and may appear tired however the surroundings, the staff and the excellent service more than compensate. All staff spoke excellent English and could not do enough to ensure our stay was enjoyable. The "silver" service at breakfast is far above anything I have experienced before...

This place was excellent, great service, staff were helpful. There are 2 top tier restaurants, a spa with great aromatherapy massage service, there is a relax room on the 12F of the main building with excellent views of Mt Fuji on a clear day. Breakfast has a choice of Japanese style or western and the 2 restaurants including Teppanyaki or Italian.
Finally there are nice walks around the garden and pond area as well as a public bath which is well maintained. The hotel seems almost brand new!...

Our spacious, comfortable room had a stunning view over the lake with Mt Fuji in the background. The staff were very attentive, especially in the main ryoken restaurant where we ate breakfast and dinner. Food was traditional, delicious and they catered well for my partner’s vegetarian diet (we informed the property a few days ahead). The public onsen was good to access directly from the hotel and provided a beautiful view over the lake. Very quiet. Courtesy bus makes it easy to reach the main...

Huge hotel room with great view. Lots of amenities including game room, onsen etc. Thoughtful design for guests with pets. The only drawback is that there aee no utensils / cookware in the kitchen.

What an amazing hotel. The highlight is the onsen, absolutely incredible. They have 2 onsen rooms, male and female. Both rooms have 2 onsens, indoors and outdoors, as well as a sauna. Changing rooms are clean with hair dryers, towels, lockers and other amenities. Staff were very kind, allowed us to borrow umbrellas when it was raining, they have a giftshop inside too. 10/10

Absolutely stunning hotel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and extremely attentive. They represent the hotel very well. We stayed in one of the rooms with a private onsen and the view of the mountains and the river below was wonderful, very peaceful. The room included in room dinner and breakfast service and this was such an amazing treat. Our guest assistant was excellent, she seemed to be so happy and enthusiastic to serve all the time. Beautiful views, incredible service, and loved the private onsen. Highly recommend! The only area for improvement would be if the spa could open earlier. It’s a shame it doesn’t open until 4pm and I was stuck for something to do while my other half played golf!

An absolutely fabulous hotel with the very best of decor and staff customer care. Extensive grounds and an amazing aray of sporting facilities and spa areas. Top quality food in extremely comfortable surroundings and an excellent breakfast buffet. The hotel provided an efficient shuttle service to both a local rail station and the larger Odawara major train station.
