One of the most beautiful ryokans I've been to. The gardens, the pond, the koi - simply stunning. Feels like you've been catapulted back in time. Location is right next to Shuzenji temple & bamboo forest. A beautiful, yet very affordable hotel nestled in the coastal village of Usami. Extremely welcoming and helpful owner. Beautiful and well-appointed rooms, all of which overlook the sea. Small swimming pool, private and family onsens also available to use. Have stayed here twice during the week and was thoroughly relaxed throughout. I’ll be going back next year as well! It’s a hidden gem of a place.

Originally we were allocated a room on the 4th floor which was supposedly deluxe. It absolutely was not! We asked for a bigger room and paid the extra and moved to the 11th and top floor!
