The rooms are all delightful here; comfortable beds,exceptionally clean bathrooms (yes I confess I was worried about this in the UK as you get many depressing reports). Breakfast was good with plentiful tea, toast etc and all the staff are warm and friendly. Evening meals can be freshly cooked if ordered in advance and the one I ate was fab and such good value. I will not hesitate to stay here again and would recommend Colonel's Retreat to everyone.

We booked the Manor Room through Expedia and did have a little trouble initially. The photos of the rooms on the site are not the same as at the hotel. Apparently not all Manor Rooms have the bathtub as advertised on Expedia . When we arrived we were allocated a room at the front (room 204?), it was quite noisy due to dogs barking. When we spoke to reception about it the following morning we were immediately moved room to a better room at the back (201) without any question or argument. The hotel is in a very narrow alleyway in Old Delhi, cars cannot get to the hotel but staff were very helpful carrying our bags to the taxi.
