Unlike its northern neighbour, Chaweng Noi Beach is a small and peaceful area of eastern Samui. It rests to the south of Chaweng Beach, and boasts a large selection of basic guesthouses and lovely resorts. For most of the year, the beach remains quiet, so couples can certainly find time to relax. Nevertheless, the bustling streets of Chaweng are immediately to the north, so tourists get the best of both worlds.
Don’t MissChaweng Noi Beach is much quieter than Chaweng, but tourists can still find interesting places to explore and fascinating things to do.
Not far from the resorts of Chaweng Noi are several scuba diving operators. These places offer safe and reliable diving tours which range from beginner courses to expert dive trips. Tours to the Angthong National Marine Park and Koh Tao’s dive sites are common.
Bike rentals at Chaweng Noi Beach and Chaweng provide great opportunities to easily explore Samui. The eastern part of the island boasts numerous bays and coves to uncover, and the headlands to the north offer various lookout points too.
Tourists can spend a few hours in one of the resort’s spa facilities. There is no better way to unwind. Body wraps and massage treatments greet guests. However, the resort spas tend to be expensive. Local massage parlours in Chaweng Beach are much cheaper and still offer excellent services for tourists.
Restaurants and BarsMuch of the dining scene at Chaweng Noi Beach happens within the numerous resorts that line the Ring Road and beachfront. Although they are on the expensive side, these restaurants boast both traditional Thai and extravagant Western menus.
For a cheaper option, try one of the Thai restaurants along the Beach Road, or enjoy a seafood meal at the southern end Chaweng Noi’s beach. The resorts and beach-front restaurants also provide the best after-hours venues on this beach. Night clubs and bars are located in the Chaweng Beach area.
ShoppingShopping is rather limited at Chaweng Noi Beach. However, vendors do sell their wares on the beach here, including toys, swim equipment and food. Tourists will find the shopping at Chaweng to be much more interesting. However, be prepared to bargain with vendors when buying clothes, accessories or any other product, as prices tend to start very high.
