"Overall: incredible hotel in a beautiful peaceful location. The staff made it! (Absolute credit to Ocha in Saffron for her impeccable professionalism and personal attention. Also Diamond, Poom in the pool bar and Fa at breakfast. Thank you!) Excellent drinks menu and happy hour 1600-2000 between different locations. Delicious food. Rooms 10/10. Not a complaint, but FYI: a bit off the beaten track - not much on the doorstep and very little in the way of provided entertainment (which we'd expect in a secluded resort) - so prepare to pay approx 400 baht each way for the 20 min journey to eg Fisherman's Village."

"Lovely three star resort. Pool is great… needs some tiles replaced, but it’s still fabulous. Beach towels are very very worn and ratty edged, but they did bring some new ones out when we were there, so maybe they are in the process of replacing them all? We had a double deluxe sea view room. It was super big and hd a separate sitting area. Sheets were changed every two days and were crisp and white. Bed comfy and we asked for extra pillows, which were comfy too. Coffee provided daily and room had a kettle. Fridge was useful with little freezer where we kept ice from the 7-11. Worked well. Aircon broke twice while we were there, once in the middle of the night and there was no one on reception so we had to sweat through it. Reception is not staffed from midnight till 6am, so anything that happens has to wait till the morning. Our shower was dirty, the walls had orange scum on them! I bought bleach from the supermarket and cleaned it myself as it was too gross for me to use. The hot water cut the power off if you used it for more than two minutes. So every day we had to be ready to what’s app the staff to come and open the utility cupboard and reset the power. We were in the third floor, and there is no lift, so we got the reception what’s app number, the first three days, we had to descend the stairs to tell them our power was out. The “maintenance man” came up several times and did something? Looked at the shower, ran the water, saw it cut off power.."

"The Room: We stayed in the balcony suite with the outdoor soaker tub, so let's start there! The room was clean & comfortable and had great A/C. The bed was large and comfy. The view was obstructed, but you could still see the mountains in the distance. We have absolutely no complaints. At times, you could hear your neighbors, but I lowered the blinds to use the soaker tub comfortably and privately. The Staff: Absolutely exceptional. They were helpful and conscientious about small details; leaves weren't on the grounds for more than a few minutes before they were swept up. The bar staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and most importantly made great cocktails. Breakfast was exceptional: freshly made omelets, a variety of cuisines, and all tasty and fresh. The beach security really stood out to us. He was kind to the beach locals but asked them to leave if they got pushy, which we really appreciated. Not all properties are like this (we also stayed in Chawang, and the local sellers were a bit much; there was no security there.) The beach: Pristine! Hands down the prettiest water we have ever seen, we have gone to St. Lucia and preferred this water. The location keeps the water calm (this isn't the case everywhere on the island). Lamai has activities, but it is calm, so you can choose whether to party or relax. As noted, we stayed at both Chawang and Lamai; we preferred Lamai. Surrounding Area: Don't forget to go left AND right! Plenty to do."
