"The apartment is very nice (if a little run-down and stained) and well-located for the university. There is a lot of space, and the beds are very comfortable, although it is quite hot and there was only one fan. However, all of that was overshadowed by the fact that one bedroom was crawling with bedbugs. It completely ruined our stay, and our trip to Bristol, which we had to cut short, and created a massive headache for us logistically, as well as a lot of anxiety. The managers didn't...

"Great location right opposite the Hippodrome ideal for us as that’s where we were going.Bathroom looked newly decorated although shower worked well but could do with updating. The room itself was spotlessly clean but probably needs redecorating soon as it wasn’t to the same standard as the bathroom also little tip for anyone staying here make sure you have a plug in lead for charging your phone as there are no usb sockets which they could do with. One thing I found disappointing was although checkin isn’t until 3pm and we had arrived early we were told our room was ready which was great but they said it’s £10 per hour so from 1pm when we arrived until 3pm they wanted an extra £20 so we declined and said we will just park our car for now and come back at 3pm.So for this reason I have dropped one star. However I would use this hotel again if I needed to."

"Great stay at The Village. My boyfriend is a regular guest for business but we stayed for a weekend. Check in was simple, we opted for a club room which was compact but had everything you could need. Beds are super comfortable, coffee machine always a bonus. We used the pool twice throughout our stay which was easy to access. First mornings breakfast wasn’t as good as second but still good. Would stay again"

"Stayed in a basic room. Definitely not 4 star, both the room and bathroom had definitly seen better days and were very well used. However for a night's sleep to break a long journey was fine. Pool, sauna and steam room were very well received andcdon enjoyed the gym. Breakfast was also lovely though no fresh rolls."

Clayton Hotel Bristol City

Clayton Hotel Bristol City

8/10 Good
"I have stayed in Clayton hotel several times while visiting Bristol. The staff on the reception desk are good and the location is perfect and in the centre of everything. I have always been happy with my stay, however, this time I felt that the room was not cleaned to the same standard as on previous visits. Dirty glasses were not moved and when searching for an item of clothing I found it tucked into the bed sheets. Also, I was disturbed by vigorous knocking on the door just after 11am to request that I leave the room, however, I was not checking out until the next day. Be aware that there are stairs up to the hotel entrance which can be an obstacle if you have heavy luggage. There is a small side door into the breakfast room through which you can access the reception area, but after pressing the buzzer and knocking for several minutes there was no one at the other side to open it. The friend who I was traveling with had to go into the hotel and through the breakfast room to open the door herself so that we could take our cases inside. Not the best experience. Maybe an all round shortage of staff."
