"The description of the Nuffield Health facility as a spa is somewhat misleading - it’s a sports club with a pool used for (noisy) swimming lessons, there is nothing relaxing about it as there are just 3 “beds” to sit on around the pool, and members make an issue of anyone having left a towel on there for just a few minutes (rudely removing it and taking the bed for their own use)."

Ambiance as soon as I walked through the main entrance.
Room was spacious and the shower was simple to use and easy to regulate the temperature, which is not always that easy in other hotels.
The only minor blip was the bathroom door opened inwards in front of the the wash basin, so you had to then close the door to access the basin.

Booked this motel for one night through Expedia at a low cost price of £38 for 2 Adults and 1 Child. I really wasn't expecting it to be anything more than tacky, but it turned out to be such a fab deal. Just off the A1 you'd expect it to be noisy, but we didn't hear a thing!! Upon arrival the very pleasant receptionist had a little chat with us and told us the time of breakfast etc. We were on the ground floor. Walking into the room (expecting the worst) I was surprised at how big and clean the...

Charming historic building but inside there was a modern hotel with clean and comfortable, well-maintained rooms. It also has ample parking. There is a pleasant bar area and restaurant. They served a good buffet breakfast with a range of food to suit all tastes (fruit, yoghurt, cereals, bread/toast, pastries, cold meats and cheeses and also a full cooked breakfast). The food was good and the bacon and sausages on the cooked breakfast were particularly high quality. The hotel has an arrangement...

I stayed here 2 nights as I was booking night by night as my husband was in hospital nearby, The room had everything I needed, far more than I expected in a small country inn. Food was delicious and varied. Service was excellent and friendly.
