"The Ocean was huge! Lol I loved the swim up pool, the entertainment staff, and the FOOD! Sometimes the staff was dismissive and/or rude. However, there were other staffs who were amazing and overly helpful in certain situations. It also seemed like a lot of hustling. Like getting stopped 5 times coming out of breakfast to attend the “presentation” exhausting. I did participate in the “presentation” they make it seem like you can get up and walk out at any point, but when you try you end up sitting for 2 hours. Overall it was cool. The property is old, but well maintained. You can tell they put effort in keeping the property up."

"The resort was beautiful and spacious. The grounds were equally lovely. The junior suite with connecting rooms were extremely spacious and the fridge was stocked with drinks and liquor. The bed was very comfortable and the staff were friendly and kept a clean room. The food was great and the servers were very attentive. The beach was the absolute highlight of my vacation at Bávaro Punta Cana!!"

"There was far too much pushing of upgrades, massages, even doing these reviews. The vacation cost us a lot of money. I'm uncomfortable with the constant upsell, much done in a bit of a deceiving way."

"I would not recommend staying at Occidental Punta Cana. This was one of the most disappointing resort experiences I’ve ever had. The food was absolutely terrible; bland, low quality, and often seemed like it had been sitting out far too long. Every meal was a struggle to find something even remotely enjoyable. Not only that, but there was glass broken all over the resort. I sat on some in the Italian restaurant and cut my hand up. (In the restaurants & by the pool.) The staff made the experience even worse. They were beyond rude and completely unhelpful. Simple requests felt like a burden to them, and there was zero effort to make guests feel welcome or taken care of. Overall, this resort was a huge letdown. Save your money and go somewhere that actually values cleanliness, quality, and customer service."

"Make sure to clarify the accommodation if it’s ocean front or beach side you are booking in. Rooms are villa type so check where exactly it is located, some of them are far from beach or pool. Rooms are getting cleaned everyday which is excellent. Mini bar was not well stocked unless you request it. Restaurant and buffet staffs are very friendly and accommodating. Top notch customer service. Over all experience is amazing. Breakfast option are quite limited. We stayed at Iberostar Selection Bavaro. "
