"From the outside, Hotel Jakarta Amsterdam doesn’t immediately impress in fact, my first reaction was disappointment. But my daughter gently said, “Mum, wait until we get inside.” And she was absolutely right. The moment we stepped through the doors, everything changed.
The interior is stunning: beautifully designed, spotless, and full of character. The reception team were warm, helpful, and welcoming, setting the tone for the rest of our stay.
We stayed in room 506, and it was exactly as shown on the website no surprises, no exaggerations. As a frequent traveller, I can confidently say this hotel exceeds the standard four‑star rating. Our room was immaculate, cleaned daily, and wonderfully quiet. We genuinely loved the atmosphere and comfort throughout the hotel.
The only downside and the reason I can’t give a perfect score was the breakfast hygiene. Over two mornings, I observed the lady chef handling food with bare hands, wiping her hands on her clothes, touching the bin, and then continuing to prepare items like ham, cheese, and eggs without washing her hands. For a hotel of this calibre, proper food hygiene is essential, and this was concerning.
Aside from that issue, Hotel Jakarta Amsterdam is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. It truly delivers on everything it promises online, and I would happily return with the hope that the breakfast hygiene is addressed."
