"Lovely hostel just off the Royal Mile"
We booked into the hostel on Tuesday to stay for two nights, we arrived early and they let us leave our bags in the luggage area until it was time to check in. The bar is very nice for food and drinks and always has a nice number of people in it. Bathroom and shower facilities also very good. We came back after a night out with food and one of the staff opened the kitchen just for us so very happy about that. Thank you!! Would definitely stay here again.

"Perfect"
Holyrood aparthotel is great. I arrived early and they let me park in the VERY secure car park ( pre-book it ) until check in time. Staff are great, really friendly and smile! The rooms are amazing, I have been using apart-hotels more than hotels lately because of the facilities and Holyrood is certainly 10 out of 10 for facilities. Location is great but take the advice from reception and take the free map. Edinburgh is a warren of 'closes' and they put me onto lots of short-cuts that make the apartments much closer to central Edinburgh than you realise on driving there. Nice touch....they put fresh milk in your fridge when they service the room. Will definately go back.

"The best breakfast possible!!"
The hotel rooms are simple, but clean. Completely in line with what you are paying. The breakfast on the other hand... every day fresh fruit and there is a small a la cart menu for hot food. This breakfast is more in line with a 5 star hotel. The hotel itself is situated on an ideal place for visiting the main attractions. Everything is within walking distance. The staff is super helpful and super friendly. Really enjoyed my stay. I work for Expedia myself, so I have seen hundreds of hotels. This hotel is definitely the best pick within his category.

"Modern hotel near old town"
Ten Hill Place has a nice location, about a 5-10 minute walk to the Royal Mile and a 10-15 minute walk to the train and bus stations (Princes St.). Our room was clean and comfortable, with a spacious bathroom. We were able to check-in early and the hotel staff were very accommodating. Overall, Ten Hill left us with no complaints and we will definitely stay again when returning to Edinburgh.

"Top Marks for The Inn on The Mile"
Thrillingly my daughter received offers from University of Edinburgh and St Andrews and we had to book a last minute trip to check out both universities. We literally could not have chosen better, as the hotel scored A*'s on all fronts. Ideally located, it's a short walk from Edinburgh University's main campus, the pubs and restaurants around Grassmarket, right down the road from the Castle, and just across the bridge from all that Prince Street has to offer. Not really a typical hotel at all, The Inn is more of a cool pub with rooms upstairs. Chicly minimal decor and well appointed - my daughter and I loved our room. The breakfast was delicious and staff polite and helpfull. They even kindly watched our bag after checkout the next day while we dashed to the trainstation - literally moments down the hill - to catch the train up for a quick tour around St. Andrews. It was perfect for our needs and I look forward to 4 more years of staying there - regardless of where she gets in!

"Lovely hotel, excellent location, castle views"
We had an issue with our room which had a broken lock, however it was swifty rectifed and we were ungraded to a suite by way of compensation. The staff were lovely and could not have been more helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were excellent, recently refurbished. We had a lovely stay and would definitely use this hotel again

Pocket Guide: Edinburgh Old Town Hotels

With narrow, winding streets and alleys, this mediaeval district is a contrast to New Town. Acting as the main artery, the Royal Mile begins at Edinburgh Castle and ends at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Royal Family’s residence. Many tourist attractions are found in Old Town including the National Galleries, Royal Museum, and St. Giles Cathedral.
