"Ideal location, great to access all experiences"
Easy to find and the location meant that the Royal Mile is behind and Princes Street is in front. Lots of restaurants and pubs are close by as are a variety of shops. The hotel also has a lovely swimming pool, spa and gym for those rainy days. An open top bus tour is a must and a visit to the royal yacht in Leith is surprisingly interesting especially if you take the bus there and see more of Edinburgh on the way

"Amazing location, great accommodations"
The location of this hotel is superb. I walked outside, turned the corner, and was immediately looking at the St. Giles Cathedral. It's situated in the middle of the Royal Mile (the high street), and I was able to walk here from the train station, and walk everywhere I wanted to go in Edinburgh from the hotel. The accommodations are lovely as well. The room was very clean, well kept, and had all of the amenities I needed. It doesn't have AC but you don't need it - I stayed in the middle of summer and open windows were all I needed for cooling. Very clean and roomy (although you won't need to spend much time in the hotel in such a beautiful city). They had complimentary on-site self-serve laundry facilities as well, which is huge since hotel laundry service fees are always exorbitant.

"Good boutique style hotel, perfectly situated"
Overall really good. Hotel staff really helpful, especially assisting with luggage on arrival. Asked for upgrade from standard to superior room prior to the holiday. On arrival we got an upgrade to a junior suite for the same cost as the upgrade to a superior room, what a bonus ! Breakfasts offered a superb choice and was cooked using quality produce. Had dinner on Saturday night. Not as good as I'd hoped for the price. Two courses and one 250ml carafe of wine - £87 ! Both starters lovely, my partners main course superb. Mine much less so. Perhaps I just chose the wrong dish. I think we could have had just as good a meal in town for much less, but this didn't spoil our stay at the hotel and I would definitely return.

"Apartment on the Royal Mile"
The best choice we could have made in such a historic city. Our place was practically next door to the Edinburgh Castle. For an apartment that is older than the United States, it was very clean and comfortable. I began to feel sorry for the other tourist who had to hike up the Royal Mile every day.

"What A View!!!"
The hotel was great and the views of the castle were stunning. We stayed a total of 3 nights and found this location to be perfect. The breakfast in the 5th floor restaurant was excellent and the views from the restaurant were also stunning.

"Great City Centre Location"
We stayed here for a one night break whilst attending a wine festival at One Dynamic Earth. It was a short walk from the station - about ten minutes - and check in was effortless. I had organised a surprise upgrade for my partner and the staff were excellent keeping this hidden from him which I really appreciated after bad experiences in other hotels. The view from our Skyline Suite was stunning - we had a view of Arthur's Seat and even in the drizzle and overcast skies it was very beautiful. The room was clean, comfortable and well appointed and had everything we needed. The champagne that came as part of our upgrade arrived within minutes of us settling in and was a lovely start to the stay. The location is spot on, plenty of local shops, restaurants and bars within walking distance and it's only 5 minutes from the Royal Mile. My only issue was getting the balance right between the temperature in the room and the noise outside (it is in the city centre so there is obviously a level of street noise even at the top floor). If you shut the windows the room got quite warm. We found a happy medium in the end and it certainly wouldn't put me off from staying there again. We both felt this would make an excellent place to stay if you wanted to explore the city of a weekend but didn't want to pay the very much higher prices of some of the other top-end hotels we came across when searching.

Pocket Guide: Edinburgh Old Town Hotels

With narrow, winding streets and alleys, this mediaeval district is a contrast to New Town. Acting as the main artery, the Royal Mile begins at Edinburgh Castle and ends at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Royal Family’s residence. Many tourist attractions are found in Old Town including the National Galleries, Royal Museum, and St. Giles Cathedral.
