Windsor Guanabara Hotel

"The room was clean and spacious. Check-in and check-out seem to take a long time even when there is no que. The reception area can get a little crowded sometimes as well but this cannot be helped due to the layout. The location was okay, centralised for public transport if this is what you like however, we opted to either walk or use taxis. Although the hotel is located in the centro area, the downside is that there is not a lot to do within walking distance except for the Museu do Amanhã and Metropolitan Cathedral. There are also hardly any restaurants close by compared to if you stayed near Copacabana beach for example. More takeaway kind of places as opposed to sit down restaurants. There are also a lot of homeless people within the vicinity which makes the area not feel as safe as others although we never had any issues. If going out at night I would recommend using taxis rather than walking. Our room was on the 12th floor with a window opening out to the main road. We could still hear the traffic noise from the street."

"The team at this hotel went above and beyond to assist me during my stay. I would like to thank each and everyone at the front desk and front area that helped me while I was there. Special shout out to Rodrigo, Questa and the two gentlemen (one of them of African decent) that worked the desk and lobby the evening of August 22nd. They were very kind and super helpful as well. Thanks everyone for making this an amazing vacation."
