"Lovely, clean room. The complimentary breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice. Very central location within walking distance to all of York’s attractions. Also within walking distance to plenty of bars and restaurants. Can’t recommend enough."

"The hotel is close to the railway station, the room was comfortable and we had a lovely buffet breakfast. We have stayed here many times before and would recommend it. The only disappointment we had on this visit was the amount of service charge applied to our bill when we had a meal and drink in the bar. I had to place the order at the bar and carry my drinks back to our table, which was not a problem, but then I had paid service charge, which technically was just for the waiter to carry out our meals from the kitchen. Isn’t this part of their job? I don’t understand why a service charge is added to your bill, especially without asking the guest first."

Malmaison York

Malmaison York

"Room was modern, well appointed and beautiful. Fabulous powerful shower with a very easy set of buttons - large shower room. Seats to sit on (bench and chaise long) were very shallow and not comfortable- unlike the comfortable bed. Storage space was actually quite small. Very poor lighting for the fab basin area but large counter to accommodate all medicines and makeup. One sad thing - the fab-looking rooftop bar was closed on the two evenings we wanted it and that wasn’t made clear before we booked."

Clayton Hotel Leeds

Clayton Hotel Leeds

8/10 Good
"We stayed last weekend for a last minute trip and got an absolute bargain. I wasn’t expecting much but the hotel was brilliant! The rooms were slightly dated but the bed was comfy and if all you need accommodation for a night it is amazing. They had everything in the room that we needed. The breakfast was one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had at a hotel and I’ve stayed in many more that are much more expensive (even had syrups for the latte which made my morning and saved me having to go into Leeds and spend £5+ on one!). The only issues I had were that there was no cot in the room when I’d requested this twice before hand but as soon as I asked at reception they brought one up (they also assisted with luggage which was really helpful). The cot was super uncomfortable and the mattress was like concrete so our baby just slept in our bed so it probably recommend investing in some better cots as I don’t think any baby would sleep in that. Would definitely be back though. Thank you"
