Hotel Suba Palace

10/10 Excellent

"Our stay at the hotel was enjoyable. The location is excellent and convenient for local sightseeing and shopping. The check in/out process was smooth and efficient. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful. It was my wife's birthday and the team helped to make our stay in Mumbai memorable. They upgraded our room, decorared it and even provided a cake! To top it off they through in breakfast for our whole stay without charge! The room was cleaned and towels changed regularly. The air conditioning was excellent and the bed comfortable. The TV was modern, had the usual local channels but also access to YouTube. The breakfast was tasty and the menu varied each day. There was free daily tea and pastries on the roof top lounge area. The gym was small, hot and humid. It was not inviting to use. The concierge was not very useful, perhaps because of a language barrier. Most staff, other than the concierge, spoke multiple languages including English. The hotel was not well set up to organise tours of Mumbai and we found it much easier to organise something either online or from the vendors at the Gateway to India. All in all, our stay at the hotel was great and better than we had expected. Thank you."

The Sahil Hotel

8/10 Good

"Location was good. Close to Mumbai Central and small shops. Decent hotel compared to other hotels in the same area. Room were a bit small. Bathroom was ok however I do not prefer Shower in a bath tub. There was hot water. The hotel needs to be renovated. Front foyer is very small and not much room to move when there is a lot of guest waiting around. Be aware of the taxi drivers parked at the front of the hotel. Do not trust them. Take a Uber instead however if you do book a taxi driver on the main street in front of the hotel, just make sure that taxi driver will pick you up on the day and time that is confirmed and they do not cancel on the word of another taxi driver who is parked at the front the hotel. The taxis drivers near the hotel are untrustworthy and will tell lies to another taxi driver to make sure your taxi is cancelled and you are to take their taxi. Overall location was good and staff were friendly."
