Situated in the heart of Ho Chi Minh's tourist area, District 1, Tao Dan Park provides a welcome reprieve from the constant chaotic buzz of motorbikes and traffic. This manicured green space spans over 10 hectares, making it the perfect place to take some time out and relax.

Read a book under a shady tree or simply sit back and admire the sculpted gardens and pathways. For a small fee, anyone wishing to take a dip in the pool or make use of the tennis courts can feel free to do so adjacent to the park.

Take the kids along to explore the garden's hidden replicas of Nha Trang's Cham Tower and Hung King Temple. Watch them entertain themselves in the playground as you bask in the charm of your surroundings. With lots of green space available, this is an ideal spot to bring a picnic.

Undoubtedly the best time to visit Tao Dan Park is in the morning. Absorb a sense of calm from the Buddhist temple nearby and watch the locals who come to practice tai chi. Nearly every morning, before 8 a.m., you can soak up some beautiful birdsong as city residents bring their birds to the park for a bit of singing practice.

Tao Dan Park is always open and is busiest during the day, drawing locals and tourists hoping to find a more tranquil atmosphere. At dusk it is less crowded. As night falls however, you should stay vigilant as the park has a reputation for being rather unsafe.
