Renaissance Fort Lauderdale Marina Hotel

"The first representative put a $724 hold on my credit card for the reservation of the room even though it was prepaid. Not entirely a huge deal, but for some kind of mistake can ruin your travel budget. He told me that he would get it fixed for the $200 it should have been, but none of it was released until a day after we checked out. I even double checked with another rep the second day and he said that it was fixed, but according to my bank account, it was not. The room smelled a bit of mildew. Our bathroom light flickered and then turned off randomly while we were going to the bathroom. After using the shower, the bathtub wouldn’t stop dripping. We did let them know about the light and the dripping. They seem to fix the dripping issue and it looked like they changed the lightbulbs in the bathroom because it seemed brighter in there, but the flickering never stopped, and the random turning off kept happening. For the prices of their breakfast, it’s worth checking out some of the cooler places around instead for breakfast. Although our waitress at Renaissance was incredibly friendly and the hostess was nice too. They handled the rush very well."

"2 star hotel. Good value. Location is not great if you like to walk to something. Staff was pleasant. Rooms clean. Pool looked nice. Breakfast wasn’t much selection. Not sure if affiliated, but went to bar next door for supper. Food was pricey and not good and took a long time. Read other negative reviews about the complimentary shuttle to the port. Although chaotic, as around 150 guests were shuttling. We had no issues. We actually left early. There was a person in charge who spoke loudly and clearly about the process. Well done. Would recommend."

"The staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout my stay. They went above and beyond to accommodate my early arrival by arranging an early check-in and consistently addressed any concerns I raised in a timely and professional manner. Their hospitality and dedication to providing excellent customer service truly made my experience memorable. I particularly appreciated their attention to detail, including ensuring that my room was cleaned promptly without me ever having to call and request housekeeping services. It was clear that the staff genuinely cared about making my stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Their outstanding service is one of the main reasons I have returned twice since my initial visit, and I certainly intend to continue being a repeat guest. The team deserves recognition for their exceptional hospitality and commitment to making guests feel valued and well taken care of. 👏"
