"Cleaning is need to be better. Upgrades lobby and restaurant looks good, stuff is pretty good. Food is ok, but it’s pricey for what they offer. Rooms need some love."

"The hotel is amazing! However the rooms you get via Expedia do not reflect the standard of the other regular rooms. (We had a tiny room squeezed in a corner and the view was obstructed by parts of the building: NOT what you would expect if you pay 700$ a night. "

"Our stay was exactly what we needed. We own an accounting firm and stayed for 5 days as a post tax season retreat and it was wonderful. The pool area and outdoor common areas make you feel like you're wrapped in serenity, while still being centrally located. We rented a car and it was great to have parking. The room was clean and suited our needs. My only wish is that breakfast would have been a little more elevated, but it did the job. We loved our stay. Highly recommend to someone looking for a relaxing feel for not a huge price tag."

"Average room that’s decent for the price. Bed wasn’t too comfortable and house keeping never came by to freshen things up during our 6 day stay, but the staff was very nice and accommodating when we asked for fresh towels and toiletries. Hotel is in a great location. Close to a lot of local bars, restaurants and the beach. All were within walking distance. We were constantly on the go so it’s a decent place to stay if you’re not spending much time in your room. "

"We just had a nice stay at hotel caribe. Yes the hotel is old and could use some tlc (bathroom door was VERY hard to open from the inside and a couple times friends outside of bathroom had to open it), but nothing that would be a dealbreaker.. our main complaint was double beds for a 4 person room, which are barely big enough for 2 adults to sleep in.. queen size should be standard especially when you are traveling with friends and aren’t planning to spoon each other at night 😬 the front desk staff were great but I want to give a special shoutout to Patricia who was soooo nice and helpful. The hotel is on very close proximity to old San Juan, the excursions like rain forest, boats to icaco island and fajarda are about an hour drive so too far to uber.. we rented a car but it seemed like the hotel had good options to get you to those activities… overall it was a nice hotel but felt a little on the pricey side for the rooms that you get"

"Overall, we had a good time. However, our first day and check-in experience was disappointing due to an interaction with Jesus at the front desk. The day before our trip, we called to request an early check-in since our flight was arriving at 1 PM. The gentleman we spoke with said it should not be an issue. When we arrived, a young lady informed us that our room was not ready yet, but that she would text us as soon as it was available. At 4 PM, the stated check-in time, we went back to the desk to ask about our room. Jesus told us, “We texted you.” I explained that I had not received any text, and he responded, “Oh well, we texted.” My husband then asked if he felt that was the right way to handle the situation, especially since we had been told the day before that early check-in should be possible and were also asked earlier that day to give it another hour. I wanted to share this because when traveling, you hope to enjoy your trip from the very first moment. Unfortunately, this interaction took away from that experience. It was especially disappointing because this trip was our honeymoon."
