New, clean, quiet, and reasonably priced. Minimalist but spacious and with good amenities, including coffee maker and refrigerator in the room and a comfortable work space on the second floor. Close to Portland State University, the farmer's market, and the theatre district as well as public transportation. Staff were kind and efficient. Welcome the extra security of a key-card elevator but might suggest a password for wifi. Decor is a puzzling choice.

I've stayed in a lot of hotels in Portland, but this is the first that charges $45 for parking. It was also very shocking because the desk clerk told me to bring my parking ticket and he would "take care of it," but that just meant linking it to my credit card so it could be charged to my room. Your lack of microwave, bathroom fans, and shower doors was pretty lame. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable too. It's like you overspent on crappy pop-art and celebrity endorsement of your cafe, and ran out of money for utilitarian things that make a guest's stay comfortable. That might work for the teenagers and 20 somethings staying there to go check out the university, but for the 40 somethings that are paying for that stay, this hotel is trash.
