The staff and service at The Royal Sonesta were amazing - the vibe of this place is even cooler than the photos, it was my first time in Portland and it was close to many conveniences and cool things.

The staff here are amazing! Very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself has a funky vibe with overstuffed furniture and lots of design details. Our suite was large with a great sitting and dining area. The only thing to watch for is the area outside the hotel. We walked most of the time and did not feel threatened, but there is an active street population in downtown Portland. There are some great restaurants and shopping within walking distance.

Highly recommend this hotel! It’s in downtown and near some food trucks (try Tokyo Sando). We got a free upgrade for our wedding anniversary. The only thing is that no mini fridge was provided inside the room. Hotel is near shopping and close enough to everything else. I would stay again if I come back to visit.

Positive: Clean and extremely comfortable beds. Negative: Did not hear room service was not available when booking which was an important focus on my stay. When asking downstairs, they said they could order from another location with a delivery fee.
