It is ideally situated not far from the train, bus, and water taxi stations but far enough away for a quiet, and peaceful stay. Staff friendly and Breakfast very good. We kept away from the tourist spots at night when looking for an evening meal. We walked around the back streets near by where we found numerous nice places to eat.

We stayed for 6 nights and found this hotel just perfect for our needs. From start to finish the staff were very friendly and cheerful as well as helpful and efficient. I would especially mention the lovely lady who oversaw the breakfast room each morning - always smiling and welcoming. Our room was tastefully furnished with a good sized bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities - unusual in Italy I think but very welcome.

Pretty single room overlooking the Rialto Bridge, very comfortable. Reception staff very pleasant and helpful. Other staff the same. Entrance foyer is upmarket but the hallways to bedrooms could do with a freshen up. I really enjoyed my stay.

Very good property on the banks of one of the canals. Easy to get to from the airport (via water taxi). Staff all very friendly and welcoming. Room was spacious and comfortable. Inclusive breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Great location to walk around Venice and get to the train station to leave.

Staff were very warm and welcoming, provided us with lots of useful information including restaurant recommendations based on what we were looking for.
Breakfast was good, room was lovely!
Only negative about our stay was a very noisy bar close to the hotel, music was very loud until around 11pm - this is no criticism of the hotel itself and noise was manageable with earplugs despite me being a very light sleeper.
Location is perfect and we would stay here again

Two guests were greeted warmly and everything efficiently taken care of. Friendly & helpful staff; generally very quiet and peaceful accommodation. The hotel location and grounds are ideal; we could be dropped off at the doorstep by the river taxi and within easy walking distance of good restaurants, and attractions; very close to one of the few bridges crossing the Grand Canal.

Beautiful view of Canal.. fantastic location for exploring Venice in foot as well as amazing proximity to transport - bus, taxi, waterbus, Friendly staff, clean rooms ... delicious breakfast overlooking canal ... only downside was the smokers in the eating area! Idyllic breakfast overlooking canal spoit by smoke wafting into your face from other guests.. if they have to smoke during breakfast which is incredibly inconsiderate - could perhaps a smoking area be created on the side ? This won't...

The property was very easy to find (with google maps), very close to St marks basilica which was a great spot. The staff were very friendly and spoke english too.
While the room was a little dated, the breakfast buffet made up for it with a great selection.
Overall I would recommended this hotel.

This hotel is amazing!!!! The refurbishment has been done so well, the location is perfect, it’s so peaceful but so close to everything. We felt so lucky to stay here.
Carlos is the bar was superb, I watched him make a drink for another guest and so much effort went into it, he was polite, engaging and attentive. Make sure you have a drink in the hotel bar or courtyard.
I also emailed the hotel before staying and Irene replied so quickly and in so much detail, I was really impressed.

Fantastic stay, hotel could not have been more helpful organising an airport to hotel transfer after landing at Marco Polo early in the morning. Flowers and fizz in the suite for our anniversary and fantastic breakfast whilst watching gondolas outside. Only a short walk to Saint Marks Square but surrounded by great restaurants and a short walk to Rialto Bridge and the water transfer direct to the Terminal… what more can you want..

The hotel is one of the best that I have stayed in! The staff are very friendly and polite.. The placement of the hotel is perfect as it's very close to all the shops and restaurants yet on a quiet peaceful street, the hotel also gave us all the information we needed and arranged a free tour of the glass factory with free transportation! The hotel and gorgeous food and cocktails, the room was stunning and very comfortable I would deffinatly stay there again!

This hotel is in a good setting, next door to the Natural History Museum and just yards away from the Grand Canal. We were within easy walking distance of Rialto and were able to walk from the hotel to most places we wanted to visit ( with the help of the occasional traghetto!).
The hotel was quiet and comfortable, with a good breakfast, but the main asset is the staff. They were unfailing pleasant and extremely helpful. I would strongly recommend Al Duca for a stay in Venice.

Padova and its attractions for beach lovers
While Padova itself is located inland and does not have direct beach access, it offers a fantastic base for those eager to explore nearby coastal gems. Just a short drive away, you can discover the stunning beaches of the Adriatic coast, particularly in nearby towns like Chioggia and Sottomarina, where soft sands and crystal-clear waters await. Here, families can enjoy a variety of activities, such as beach volleyball, sailing lessons, or simply enjoying a leisurely day soaking up the sun. For those interested in a cultural twist, the historic fishing town of Chioggia boasts charming canals akin to Venice and vibrant seafood markets. Additionally, a visit to the Parco Regionale del Delta del Po provides opportunities for wildlife watching and tranquil boat tours through lush wetlands. Staying in Padova allows for easy day trips to these coastal areas while enjoying the city’s rich history, such as the stunning Scrovegni Chapel and the bustling Prato della Valle. Many hotels in Padova offer family-friendly amenities and exceptional service, ensuring a comfortable stay as you balance city exploration with beach relaxation.
