"I recently stayed at ibis budget Melbourne CBD and found it to be a decent option for a short stay. The room itself was clean and well-maintained, which I appreciated. However, the overall atmosphere felt a bit gloomy, likely due to the dark or dull paint choices. The bathroom setup is a bit unusual cuz the toilet is separated from the shower area, and instead of a proper door for the shower, there’s only a curtain located outside near the sink and shower space. It works, but it may feel a bit awkward if you’re sharing the room. There’s no microwave in the room, but guests can use a shared one in the dining area, which is convenient enough. Laundry facilities are available as well, though limited and there are only two washers and two dryers, and each use costs $5. Overall, it’s a practical and budget-friendly stay with clean rooms, but a few design and facility limitations to keep in mind."

"Most things were good value , but shower head did not project water out from wall very well."

"The stove extraction fan was not working. ( yes I turned on the isolation switch) it was also filthy. Only one toilet roll. No bath at or hand towels supplied. I had to hunt down cleaner to get them. Less the 20 cms from end of bed to wall. Only one large saucepan. No can opener. I found this unit adequate only. I will not stay here again and won’t be recommending it. "

"Arrogant dsek staff who refused to let my wife, daughter and three young children check in (who had been caught in a thunderstorm and were scared, soaking wet and cold), because the Hotels.com booking was in my own name. My wife had ID with Medicare card, drivers license with address, and my mobile number as proof of identity. Even after I had uploaded the booking reference number with my wife named as a guest, the smart-arse on the desk said he "couldn't read it. Will never stay there again and will advise my many dozens of fellow travellers we regularly share trips with, not to consider this venue. We have travelled around the world many times and locally dozens of times, and have never struck such a moronic group of desk staff (who by the way could barely speak or be understood in our native language). "

"Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean and spacious with a pretty small balcony looking out to pretty trees. Easy access to the tram for a quick trip to the race course for events or city for everything else! "

"Fantastic location. Was certainly easy for us to get around town. Breakfast was satisfactory for the price. We ended up have dinner there too and were happy with quality and price. Unfortunately the premises itself is getting tired. In dire need of some maintenance. "
