"The location is fantastic, we didn't take our car out once. Very walkable everywhere on the boardwalk to The Wedge Park, took the ferry over to Balboa Island and walked around the whole island, the Pier is there with Ruby's restaurant at the end, a lot of food options around, a park next door. All of the staff were so helpful and friendly. The hotel and area is also very dog-friendly so we took our dog everywhere with us. The property itself is a little dated, could use some new furniture and bathroom fixtures. We had an issue with our room card keys, which became an inconvenience, but staff resolved the issue. Valet parking was only $10 more/day than the public lot across the boardwalk, in a covered and secure garage, so it was worth it for us. Overall, we really enjoyed our long weekend stay and would definitely stay again if in the area."
