Old Town
Old Town Udaipur surrounds shimmering Lake Pichola with centuries-old palaces and intricate havelis. The majestic City Palace dominates the skyline while Jagdish Temple's carved spires rise above winding cobblestone lanes. Travellers can immerse themselves in traditional Rajasthani culture through vibrant bazaars and authentic cuisine. Narrow medieval streets limit vehicle access, making walking the primary way to explore this historic district. Rooftop restaurants offer stunning lake views and traditional Rajasthani thalis. Artisan workshops maintain age-old crafts like miniature paintings and bandhani textiles throughout this cultural treasure.

Saheli Marg
Saheli Marg offers a glimpse into authentic Rajasthani culture alongside stunning Lake Pichola. City Palace's ornate courtyards and the ethereal Lake Palace create a living museum of heritage. Traditional artisans work silver and weave textiles in narrow lanes throughout this welcoming area. Rooftop restaurants serve flavourful dal-baati-churma with palace views. Boutique hotels in converted havelis feature traditional courtyards and dรฉcor. The cream sandstone buildings with carved balconies and vibrant painted walls create perfect photo opportunities. Boat rides from stone ghats provide memorable sunset experiences.

Pichola
Pichola brings Udaipur's royal heritage to life along the shimmering waters of Lake Pichola. The iconic Lake Palace seems to float magically on the water's surface. The grand City Palace complex cascades down the hillside in honey-colored stone, creating a stunning backdrop for your visit. Traditional boats drift across the azure waters while ornate ghats lead to the lake's edge. Rooftop restaurants serve authentic Rajasthani cuisine with panoramic views. Temple bells echo at dawn and dusk, mingling with jasmine-scented breezes. Sunset boat rides offer the quintessential Pichola experience.

Hiran Magri
Hiran Magri offers a peaceful slice of authentic Udaipur life away from tourist crowds. This family-oriented residential area provides a quiet retreat with planned streets and modern low-rise buildings. Travellers can enjoy local Rajasthani cuisine at budget-friendly area eateries while experiencing genuine community atmosphere. From this suburban base, you can easily reach Udaipur's famous lakes and City Palace by auto-rickshaw. Small area parks dot the area, while homestays and guesthouses provide affordable accommodation with personal touches. Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary makes an excellent day trip for nature lovers seeking adventure beyond the area.

Udaipur City Centre
The City Centre of Udaipur invites you to wander through centuries of royal heritage. Ancient temples and ornate havelis line narrow lanes where artisans paint miniatures in open doorways. Rooftop restaurants offer stunning views of the palace complex and Lake Pichola. This historic district blends tourist charm with authentic local life. Vibrant bazaars sell colourful textiles, silver jewellery, and traditional crafts worth exploring. The area is best discovered on foot, with temple bells and spice aromas creating a magical sensory experience.

Top Udaipur Hotel Reviews
The Leela Palace Udaipur
"Exceptional hospitality. Would like to come back soon"
Wyndham Grand Udaipur Fateh Sagar Lake
"Excellent family hotel for stays. The only issue is the monotony of food options I.e. vegetarian option only. Other than that a good place to stay"
Taj Lake Palace
"We loved the people. They made the stay unforgettable. The views are likely the best in Udaipur. The property is spectacular. I would only recommend having more options in the menu for North Indian non vegetarian dishes. But even then there were ample choices. Often you don't get what you pay for, but this property is worth it and more."
The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur
"Super property, excellent service. Food was veg friendly Loved the peacocks in the property."
Radisson Blu Udaipur Palace Resort & Spa
"I had a wonderful stay at Radisson Blu Udaipur. The room was very clean, well-maintained, and comfortable, which made the experience even better. The staff were polite, helpful, and always ready to assist with a smile. Their warm hospitality made the stay feel pleasant and smooth. The breakfast was excellent with a good variety of fresh and tasty options. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay, and I would happily recommend the resort to others."
Aurika, Udaipur - Luxury by Lemon Tree Hotels
"Itโs a great location, away from the crowds but with a great view of the lake and the town. Rooms were nice, quiet, and clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating. There is a beautiful pool and Spa. Food was delicious."
Mementos By ITC Hotels Ekaaya Udaipur
"Staff was very very good and food also very good one of the best property I have seen"
Raffles Udaipur
"While the property is beautiful and well-maintained, a few aspects of the experience fell short of expectations considering the premium pricing. The food options were quite limited, and the taste seemed intentionally toned down to cater to international preferences. Ironically, many visitors come to India hoping to experience authentic Indian cuisine, flavors, culture, and hospitality. The overall dining experience, including the music and ambience, felt more aligned with international trends than with the warmth and richness of Indian hospitality. As we were celebrating our anniversary, I had expected the hotel to take note of it proactively, but I had to remind the staff to arrange a cake. Another disappointment was that all three restaurants are located indoors, with none offering lake-facing dining. Given the stunning surroundings, this felt like a missed opportunity to create a truly memorable dining experience. The pool area was also smaller than expected. While there was seating around the pool and within our suite, it did not feel particularly comfortable or practical for spending extended periods relaxing by the water. For a luxury property, one would expect thoughtfully designed lounging spaces where guests can comfortably unwind and enjoy the views. The landscaping is aesthetically pleasing, but most of the trees appear to have been planted primarily for visual appeal rather than functionality. There was very little natural shade available, making it difficult"
Moustache Udaipur Verandah
"The Verandah is excellent value in Udaipur. We booked a king size room with a balcony overlooking the lake. The views were wonderful. The room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was good with hot water for the shower. The restaurant was good and the breakfast including the coffee which was excellent. The location is ideal for visiting the city's key sites, many in walking distance or a short auto rickshaw drive away. It is located in an area that cars cannot access so you have to plan to use a rickshaw to reach the property. The staff were the highlight however. Pretty much everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. Nimmi at reception was a particular standout. She was cheerful and helpful on every occassion. Overall highly recommend this property!"
